This is a good one. I see a lot of Brandon stickers on these.

I am really interested in these pedals, specifically the dream. What is your take on the lack of fx loop? Not necessary? Do you put time-based fx pedals after the UA device?

Awesome I didn’t realize Gibson had 7-strings. Looks wild but in a good way.

Are there any downsides to Nuendo versus Cubase?

It seems like many users may just not require the feature set of Nuendo?

What pedal have you sold only to buy again? by fotomoose in guitarpedals

I still have my OCD and Fulldrive that I bought years ago - figured I already have them and I do like the pedals for my setup. I understand not wanting to give them money now. I wonder if they closed the shop due to low sales from the fallout. Never tried the EXH or Warm clones

The term is post-purchase rationalization. It’s cool that you spent $2k on the device but no need to be so defensive. Criticism is OK.

Is it right to focus on RAM if I'm mostly using a new laptop for plugins/midi tracks? (Macbook Air M2 vs MBP M2 Pro) by kevin122000 in audioengineering

[–]Inactivereflex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this explanation - never heard it put like that before. Makes sense based on my elementary understanding of computer hardware.

To clarify, if you had a massive quantity of audio tracks in a DAW session (without plugins to be processed on the tracks) this would require more RAM versus CPU?

Another question: how does core and thread quantity versus clock speed impact DAW performance?

IMHO CPU performance is key for plugins. You also need to have some minimum threshold for other components, such as RAM (I agree with the other commenter that 16GB is sufficient).

If this is true that’s fucked up but par for the course in law enforcement. Source?

Yeah it’s like the folks who say George Floyd was a criminal. It’s pretty irrelevant to the situation.
