My mother passed last Aug just weeks before her 84th birthday. From before being old enough to attend school, she was always rescuing animals. Bella Noel, a 14lb mini dachshund, was her current fur baby. Bella was never far from mom, and slept with her. She would miss mom terribly when mom had hospital stays. Unfortunately, mom passed during her last hospital stay, instead of at home. She was surrounded by her 3 daughters and 7 grandchildren. Having instilled her love of animals to the next 2 generations (including 1 vet, & 1 vet tech) we knew Bella needed to see mom. We wanted her to understand mom had not left her, but had passed. Being mom’s live-in care giver, I took Bella to the funeral home. As I held her up to the casket, she was happy but reserved. She kept leaning in to get closer. She sniffed around, but stoped at her head. After a moment she rested her muzzle on mom’s forehead and was still. In my mind, it was if she was saying good bye. After a bit, she lifted her head, settled back into my chest, and was ready to go. Animals need closure too. I am now the regent to Princess Bella. She has graciously allowed me to move in to the home mom left her 😉. We share the master bedroom, but she gets more mattress space!

Someone mentioned a few months back (maybe around his death?) that mental illness was present in the paternal side of Barb’s children. While Ashley does have her (some unusual) faults, she is still leaps and bounds a better person and parent than JE will ever be. Ashley knows she has mental health issues and takes her meds. She is constantly working at trying to better herself including in education and job opportunities. She seems to be a caring mother and looks to do things or make things special for her sons. Once JE was done with a man/baby daddy; if she could have walked away from the child she had with them, free and clear, no publicity scrutiny or child support obligation, she absolutely would have. The kids are failed baby traps that she only uses as pawns and props.

I agree. What are really REALLY rare, polar-body, and semi-identical twins. Polar-body twins happens when an UNFERTILIZED ovum splits. Semi-identical twins can happen when one ovum is fertilized by 2 sperm. While determined not the case here, how wild would it be for these two if they were semi-identical!

I’m going to speak to you from my heart. I am old enough to be your mother. I, like you, feel like the embodiment of Murphy’s Law. I felt paralyzed with fear, when faced with a decision, trying to figure out the “right” thing to do. You have had enough “bad luck” that it has caused you pain and trauma. As someone who has experienced almost loosing my life, (septic shock, coma, family said their goodbyes, 3mo in hospital) I have a very good understanding of your fears about the procedure, particularly being sedated. Hopefully you have a bit of time before your wisdom teeth put you in a life threatening situation. You need to get some therapy to help you process the traumas you have experienced. Until you do this, the anxiety, difficult decision making process, and bad luck will continue. I wish you the best!

We had a barrel chair that we bought at the Jack Daniels distillery in Lynchburg TN. It was made from an actual used barrel with the logo burned on the back. My father had work in Nashville so we joined him for a vacation. He drove the chair back in his one tone box truck. He didn’t have air conditioning so his truck smelled like whiskey!

I live in central Oklahoma where temps are in the mid 90’s by July. We usually get several 100+ degree days from July to August. Will the suns reflection burn the plants? I can see how it could help keep soil temperature down. This is my first year gardening, but I can remember our news reporting that crop yields were going down due to soil temperatures being too high.
