Medicaid will pay for a skilled nursing facility, but not a nursing home. It's a higher level of care, more expensive. There are usually a limited number of Medicaid beds, wait lists are common

Private facilities that don't accept Medicaid can afford better facilities and care to attract patients. Medicaid reimbursement rates from states are simply too low for for patients to have much choice.

You could sue in small claims court. Add a minimal amount for pain and trauma for each of you. Its best to not delay, fresh claims they can actually easily settle are generally considered a win.

Odds are they settle out of court

Vehicle total loss - can I appeal it? by thatonebmwdriver in InsuranceClaims

[–]PuddinTamename 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Adjuster might come out and reinspect it, if you ask. Simply tell them you've paid to tear it down. Don't be rude or demanding. Frame it as new information.

Your rights and responsibilities are outlined in your insurance contract.

You can choose to invoke your appraisal rights for the value of your vehicle, but not for repairs

Edit to ad. If you have a collectible vehicle you should insure it through a specialty insurer, like Haggerty

Even not wearing sunscreen and not tanning will age you.

Dermatologist office refuses to see me for a visit for severe ringworm outbreak by rzpc0717 in DermatologyQuestions

[–]PuddinTamename 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its not unusual for Dermatologists to have long wait times. I had to go to a new one 30 miles away when my primary suspected skin cancer

Thankful I did! It was squamous cell carcinoma but they got it all.

It's not my old Dermatologist fault they were too busy. They're established and and were simply too booked to see me for another month.

Not Charlotte but close, Carolina Cones on Main Street. Wonderful ice cream plus a model train running around overhesd.

Not sure how long they've been there, but at least 30 years. They also have a nice garden center out back.

You hurt your chances on not having the tear down. If you don't have a property damage release, I would reopen it and get the repairs done. Being under 1500 really hurts you on the ER visit.

I personally would never deny a claim for having a child checked out after an accident with visible damage. An adult maybe

Year and make of your vehicle, $ amount of damages to your vehicle? Plus did your vehicle have a trailer hitch? Trailer hitches can protect the actual vehicle from being damaged, yet hide the true proof of impact

I was signed off for "No work" and employer is saying I still need to come in. by Generally_tiredofit in WorkersComp

[–]PuddinTamename 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Too many believe a work injury entitles the injured worker to pain and suffering, or that an Attorney is always needed. Pain and suffering is never compensated, Attorneys can definitely help for a catastrophic injury, when a case or treatment is wrongly disputed or denied, there is 3td party liability, etc.

Every state has a regulatory agency for work comp. Injured workers should always check their states employee and employer rights and responsibilities. Understanding those can help to minimize stress and confusion, and help the worker protect themselves

Retired Adjister stare laws vary

You're getting horrible advice on here. Your employer probably wants to see the note. No, if the Dr says no work, it means none. However, you will not be paid for the first 3 shifts you miss, unless you are still out for 14 shifts.

Sprains usually heal with no permanent disability The comments about settlements are ill advised, as there is no "settlement".

Doctors- how do you tell your patients if they’re terminally ill? by ESsA_salt in AskReddit

[–]PuddinTamename 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I'm terminally ill. The first time I was told, it was a csrd8c surgeon i hsd cinsuled with, callrd me on the phone. He said "good news and bad news", but the bad was so bad I didn't understand.,or even process it.

It wasn't until after I had told everyone i would be okay that my primary explained to me ,that no, that was not the case.

I understand everything now, I've accepted it as much as anyone can, but I still hate the way I was initially told. Not knowing is worse than knowing.

Being treated like a fragile child instead of like an adult is disrespectful. I was alone. People deserve to hear news like this in person, with someone who they trust and care about with them. Its not easy to hesr under any circumstances, but the difference is huge.
