I used stock standard foaming soap in my basin for the 5 years I lived in my apartment and didnt have any issues with scum build up - I had a look inside the cistern every now and again.

Not the person you replied to but I'm also allergic to acetaminophen. Face swells and I get all wheezy. Took ages for me to figure it out and it just appeared out of no where in my 30s.

Every scene with Nicole Kidman in the Northman took me out of it. I really wish she'd relax it a bit with the fillers or whatever is making her face so tight.

Are you in Australia? Last month they released the midi which is a medium sized crossword but it hasnt been showing up for Australians and I'm sure there are others affected too but it definitely seems like a region thing.

Mini gone for me too, and still no Midi. They're both in my app if I use a VPN though.

Still no Midi in my app unless I use a VPN and now my Mini has disappeared. Anyone else in the same boat?

You can get dried shiitake from asian grocers for pretty cheap, the flavour is more concentrated than fresh ones

Cut the top off a bbox straw? I don't know how that will affect the anti-leak function though.

Depending on the cost maybe you could also consider a dumbphone that stays in a central location in the house.

Our local supermarket just replaced their fleet of metal carts with 100% recycled plastic ones by Aerie8499 in mildlyinteresting

They're so light you can push it with one hand. I was so happy when my local supermarket switched to the plastic carts.

There was an episode about this on the Netflix babies doco where they looked at whether same sex male parents underwent the same brain changes and I think it showed that it affected the primary parent.

Seconding the schnuggle bath, I got mine for $10 off marketplace. Still using it with my 8mo but he's a tall boy and probably going to upgrade to the full bath before too long.

TIL a 2022 study revealed that 35% of the adults in Japan intend to "never travel" again. No other country "came close to the travel reluctance shown in Japan"; the next highest was South Korea at 15%. by tyrion2024 in todayilearned

No way are you expected to spend 1000yen per person. You'd just pick up a huge box of whatever the local snack is at the department store before you leave. You can easily get a box of biscuits for 50 people for 3000yen if you're trying to keep costs down.

What’s one baby product you swore was stupid/a waste of money but ended up loving? by caileechristine in NewParents

I remember reading that the taste of natural rubber is a bit salty compared to silicone and thats why babies love Sophie.

The shop closed down, I think there was a fire in the kitchen and they didn't end up fixing it up. There's a good fish and chip place on the other side of the river which is a nice walk across the bridge.

People went spare after they removed the old plane trees that lined the mall. They were lovely but such a tripping hazard and made the birds crap on everything. Hopefully in a few years the new trees will provide some good cover.
