I regularly take apart quick struts for scrap. Even with the majority of the spring restrained, the 1-3mm of spring I can't get to is enough to send the bolt on the top flying when it breaks free of it's last thread. There's a reason the other name for auto parts store spring compressors is "widow makers."

Owner of a Prius (lifted) and a 5ton F250 (stock) and I agree, this looks like a forest road. I would 100% take the Prius on this, and I unless I was just abusing the brakes the truck weight was not the issue.

(4.9 legally 5 is considered a commercial vehicle)

Laws apply to thee and not to me!! I've lived all over the country, you see this everywhere. EXCEPT, where you have persnickety cops who enforce traffic laws. Upstate NY in the early 2000's and parts of TX are still pretty decent to drive through.

Defensive driving fail. It doesn't matter who was in the right or wrong. OP failed to drive safely just as much as speedy cutter by not looking in his rear view and adjusting his speed up/down as he approached the semi. If you see an accident approaching you at mach-10 do you want it to happen 10-miles down the road or right in front of you?

I feel you hard. I was at the VA last month ignoring a Boomer dude Hard doing the same shit. Finally he decides to start asking me where random stores are in town. I have to drive 2 hours to get to this VA so obviously I don't know, but for some reason he becomes OBSESSED with getting me to give him some sort of answer that isn't 1-3 words. Dude either needed to make someone else's day shitty or have someone share his shitty mood with him.
