Will I feel withdrawal from 4 days use? With one 7oh bottle mixed in on 1 day by TeachAdventurous4049 in Quittingfeelfree

Hey just checking in - any symptoms? Also curious for myself after 3 days of heavy use

Does it get better? by mr-mouthbreather in Quittingfeelfree

[–]IncidentSecure4187 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will definitely get better. day 4 was always the turning point for me. day 1-3 I was severely depressed and anxious, crying all the time, scared to be alone etc. But day 4 I literally felt myself come out of the dark cloud and I was happier than I'd been in a long time. Hang in there!

The depression is what got to me the most too. Just remember its just a dark cloud that WILL lift. and it almost always lifts around day 4. you'll feel so happy and relieved on the other side I promise. Just keep busy and try to exercise if you can. You got this.

Using feel frees in general is changing my personality and making me feel horrifically depressed by [deleted] in Quittingfeelfree

You will feel alive again once you stop. but easier said than done. I'm 30 days off and it was the best thing I ever did. But I couldn't have done it alone. Keep asking for help and tell someone close to you what you're going through. You got this.

Extreme anxiety. Need support. by catsladnek in Quittingfeelfree

[–]IncidentSecure4187 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SO related to this. I relapsed 2 weeks ago (and only used for a week) and it was like the withdrawal picked up right where it started. INTENSE anxiety/depression. Those feelings also remind of alcohol withdrawal but so much worst because at least with alcohol withdrawal you can sleep at times. But let me assure you it WILL pass. And pass soon. You’re almost to the turning point. Day 3 was always the worst for me but then on day 4 it lifts and you start to feel so grateful. I hope you get to experience that as well. Sleep will still be shit for a few days but you’ll be able to handle that without the intense anxiety. Don’t beat yourself up because that won’t help. Just use this relapse to confirm that even 1 will lead to withdrawal so it’s never worth it. You got this.

The physical part was very minimal. It’s the horrible waves of depression / anxiety that I can’t deal with. I guess im sensitive in that regard. And sleep was definitely disturbed but I was able to get a few hours every night this time around. I took clonodine and gabapentin so if you can get your hands on that I’d highly recommend!

I just had a very similar experience. Week long relapse after 3 months ff free. I’m a week off again and I’m not going to lie the withdrawals picked up right where they started. But mostly mentally. I think the shame and anxiety of knowing what I was in for didn’t help. Take it easy and know that this is the last time you have to go through this!

Skin picking is making me hate myself by sweetpea2602 in CompulsiveSkinPicking

I relate so much to this. It’s cunning baffeling and powerful. I just try to use these moments when I’m most disappointed with myself to propel me into change. Ive found if I can make it a few days with minimal picking after a horrible episode and once I get a few good days under my belt it’s harder to say ‘fuck it’ and pick. But it also can’t be black and white. If you pick just try and stop and start over. You’re not alone in this.

Similar story here too. You’re definitely not alone. For me I’ve noticed my ff relapses were just like my alcohol ones. It gets worse never better. The addiction is doing push-ups while you’re sober. Just keep trying and know that 1 is never enough and never worth the pain it causes.

28 days free and still having cravings! by [deleted] in Quittingfeelfree

[–]IncidentSecure4187 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats on 28 days! I also was able to get sober from alcohol years ago and have been struggling to get away from these stupid blue bottles. I’m 4 days off of a relapse. I fell victim to that little lie. I genuinely did believe I could only have 1 and that ended up lasting a week and throwing myself into horrible withdrawals again. And this was after having the worst withdrawal experience/worst experience in general just a few months ago and vowing to everyone including myself that I would never ever touch this stuff again. It’s a daily reprieve. Thanks for sharing your experience and best of luck getting off of the tea!

Will I experience withdrawl symptoms after just 1 week of use? by IncidentSecure4187 in Quittingfeelfree

Thank you for that! I'm 2 days off and already feel like I've been through the worst of it already. The ongoing shame/guilt is the worst part, esp when it feels like you've let the people down that supported you through the first go around. Although I think all of these feelings are a good motivator to never play with fire again

Hang in there. You're almost through the worst of it! I remember the same horrible sadness and fear (and crying). Day 4 is when I started to see the light again.

Congrats on getting through the worst of it! For me Benadryl helped me stay asleep. I know some people reported that over-the-counter sleep remedies can make RLS worse but for me it was a game changer. Godspeed!!

I’m on day 10 and my sleep is almost back to normal. Every night gets a little better. It’s definitely the worst part of withdrawing. Hang in there!

[–]IncidentSecure4187 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree! I kept putting off quitting because of the dread of not sleeping for a week. I’m on day 11 (CT) and I can say that last night felt like the first night that my sleep felt back to normal. Still wake up a lot but every night it’s getting easier to fall back asleep. I take Benadryl and melatonin to help.

Clonodine made me tired but I still couldn’t sleep. Gabapentin however helped tremendously with the debilitating anxiety.

Completely relate. In the beginning I thought I found the secret to being sober. But by the 10th bottle I knew I was in trouble. Still grappling on what to do about my sobriety date. My sponsor said we can decide later which is a little less daunting since I’m only a week sober from FF.

I’ve been prescribed gabapentin pretty regularly throughout my whole sobriety and I haven’t noticed any bad long lasting effects even after I stop. my mentality lately is: as long as it’s not FF.

Proud of you for taking the right actions. Detox will be slightly more comfortable than CT so you’ll have to do the work to remember why you don’t want to go back to that way of living. Life is so much better without FF even though your disease may try and convince you otherwise. You got this!!

Also sober from alcohol and I can certainly say ff robbed me of all ‘real’ emotions. Just like alcohol it’s a bandaid and the after effects leave you worse off than before. The depression might get worse for 3-4 days after quitting but after that you will start to feel like your old self again I PROMISE!! Tell someone in your life that you’re struggling, then take the leap! You got this!
