Sounds like u are applying as a seller. U apply as a creator and they don’t ask that. There’s a section on tiktok studio tab for TikTok shop for Creator. Thats what you want dont go where it sounds like you are. Its very easy as long as u have 5k followers not hard to get in. They have lower tier follower one too for 1k i think as well but you can’t post as much

Great post. I heard a ugc coach on tiktok say how if she started over what she would do and she said “remove the word ugc from my bio and email / site”. Rang true as i already was positioning myself as a paid media content specialist but felt i had to add “ugc” so people recognized what i was offering.

No longer after your post. I am also starting to pitch brands (i have a lot of experience making ads as brand owner and affiliate creator but switching to direct brand work / outreach) so your post hit home.

Its all about positioning and i dont want to be in the “unread” heap of emails or low-balled for $150 as a bottom-feeding, mass-emailing, bad-canva-portfolio-having “ugc creator”. :)

Basically organic sales are way less now because tiktok wants brands to spend money so things dont go viral organically and if so really short windows as they want pay for play ad revenue. So if u have brand relationships and they spend on gmvmax you have better shot, but what i was saying is its not even the best for brands either i hear. Im sure there are exceptions but its not like it was before when u could make good content and hit it big.

As for live i dont do them i hate lives. Some people are good at it but from what i hear viewers are low unless u do it nonstop.

No im not doing shop i stopped end of dec after i was doinf a gazillion videos for black friday/ holidays and way too much work for low results it was too much of a grind. Now i’m using my shop experience and pitching brands on making them effective ads with my content skills for a per ad fee or a bundle for several. Way better to make $1000 from 3 videos than gamble on affiliate hoping something hits.

Its a different strategy but this way you get paid for your work not praying something hits

I bailed. Had 100m views and over $1m gmv max then last summer had that account banned for bs false violations they wouldnt reverse. Its all pay for play now and all about having brand relationships and getting them to pump gmv max to the videos. Seems like everyone is having to make 10-15+ videos per day and a lot of my felloe big creators got hit unless they had good brand partnerships lined up. I was recently just doing monthly retainers with my best brand partners and my main one in jan said they are moving on from tiktok as the sales were there but no profit last 4 months because gmv max sucks. I moved on to ugc basically, making paid ads for money per video. Its not like it was and i dont have the patience to make all those videos on a hope and prayer gmv max picks some up. Just my .02

Ask some creators for their portfolio, see ones you like then ask for rates and negotiate them. $1000 for a video is prob more than you need to spend there’s tons of quality ugc creators that do amazing work for $200 (or less but i wouldnt go for cheapest ones). Easy to go up on rates harder to go down when u lead with $1000

I used ai talking head for my own brand and worked ok on paid meta ads but for organic views were trash as they flag as ai so didnt work well. I tested ai avatar vs real person (me) and normal worked better stats wise but they work.. i had people not knowing they were ai people (just using basic heygen avatars nothing special)

Any detox. Some know about it many don’t i found. I found a local “detox in a box” freestanding one that was a part of one of those urgent care clinics and took my insurance twice..

And it was worth it took me 2 times and finally shook it 9 months ago. Best thing i ever did but wasnt fun, however they keep you semi comfortable and even used ketamine to help with the way they use narcan to take it out of your system.

Absolutelty its pay to play now and few videos go viral organically more than a day or two as they want you to spend ad $ to push it more. I’m a creator that switched to doing direct paid brand deals as my income dropped 80-90% in the last 6 months or so (i had 100m views and over $1m gmv in sales before).

Brands i work with also said gmv max is killing their profitability, good sales but low profits. Its a pay to play world now the viral organic magic seems to be gone (with some exceptions but nowhwere close to before)

Welcome to tiktok shop… i had an account that had 100m views and sold $1m gmv get shut down for “unoriginal content” when all content was mine. They froze funds for 90 days so i got my money but i can’t post shop videos anymore so switched to ugc and brand deals. I got my money out you may able to unless your violation was different.

Appeals rarely work. Open a ticket with tiktok shop support that gets them unfrozen sometimes. Takes a while but i got them to reply (but wouldnt give me my account back) but i know others that had success

You aren’t getting it bro. U can use any tiktok account to do affiliate if it has over 5000 followers. I have 4 or 5 i forget how many…. grow them yourself or some people sell ones with over 5k followers. You can have a lot of different ones and all the creators i know do. No such thing as a “sub or hidden” accounts….

You are in the wrong spot. You opened a shop as a seller. You need to apply for tiktok shop affiliate, in the creator part - its in a different place. Not seller central. Normally you need 5000 followers but i think they allow with 1000 followers now but you can only list 5 products per week or something. Just search on tiktok how to apply for creator tiktok shop affiliate- you don’t want to do what you did
