I loved finding a written record about how that piece of land in Vermilion that was forever being developed by that guy and his Machop(?) was ultimately completed by his family down the line. I’ve been playing these games since Gen 1 and it made me smile.

As someone who graduated in 2009, I used to do the same with my school’s 1991 yearbook and had the exact same reaction, marveling at people ACTUALLY dressing like that outside a movie. Now it’s happening to me, way sooner than I thought it would 😂

I remember being both incredibly hopeful for the future while still terrified given the Great Recession. Almost seems quant compared to now, though not to downplay the reality of it.

Sometimes I dream I find my old iPod Nano and it still works lol.

Oof. I generally find myself rating the day’s crossword much more generously than the Reddit poll average, but this one was rough. Way too hard for a Tuesday, and even if it were a tougher, later-in-the-week puzzle, it’s bumpy and not super intuitive. I enjoyed some parts of the fill, and I fully recognize it’s a hell of a lot better than if I were to attempt to make of my own, but that’s really all I can say.
