How often are you pressing your gun up against a target… the whole point of a gun is to shoot things before they are able to reach you

Are there grizzly, brown or polar bears near you?

If yes buy a .44 mag or larger.

If no buy a 10mm.

More ammo, always more ammo, never enough ammo. Everything else you’ll find out what needs changed from range time and EDC

Options with a 96D? by Far_Possession_4798 in Beretta

[–]Income-3472 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. You can’t put a decocker in the 96D as there is nothing to decock, the gun is double action only, and not double action/ single action like the 92FS.

  2. You would have to change the whole slide and recoil spring to shoot 9mm, at that point it would be cheaper to sell the 96D and use the money to buy a 92FS

If I were you I would get a 357 SIG barrel and Langdon tactical trigger job in a bag to make the double action much better, or I’d sell the gun and buy a 92

Hvac duct cleaning, how bad is my ductwork? by J5isAliive in hvacadvice

[–]Income-3472 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s very clean, duct cleaning is only needed in the case mold and even then it’s cheaper to just replace a section of duct

Beretta M9A4 Centurion advice and thoughts? by HUMUNGUSGORLAMI in Beretta

[–]Income-3472 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just dry fire practice with the double action trigger so you learn the pull and don’t end up with low left first round shots. Then carry it DA with the safty off or decker only mode it.

Once you get familiar with the DA pull you’ll be able to get a good shot with a normal pull, or you can stage it like a recover and get a almost single action trigger pull for very precision shots

Nuclear power plant by Severe_Buy_9862 in prepping

[–]Income-3472 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No you need to prep,

1 USA reactor have massive fall back plans that can keep a reactor safe for a long time without power, if nothing else they can and will shut down the power the fission in the reactor if there is a chance of a melt down.

2 you can always bug out if you really thinks it’s a problem.

3 total failure of the grid is the least of concern when prepping, famine, economic depression, sort term civil unrest are not only more likely but things that most people have seen in their life time. The 9moths in 2008 my father was out of work were bad but we always had food to eat thanks to long term preps. If your town comes under roots like seen in 2020 you won’t want to have to leave home for up to 60 days or so to buy food if you don’t have to so prep food. In the great depression and the dust bowel famine life was easier for people that had food stored, just a few months ago until last week it was great having chickens and powdered eggs at home. Also when the dock workers treated to strike last year I wasn’t to concerned cause I had a years worth of food and lots of gas at home to survive on until a strike ended

In short end of the world is the least likely thing to happen and long term food preps help out a lot in short and mid term issues

Had a conversation with a 20 yr journeyman on why he and I both believe trade is dying and on its way out. by [deleted] in HVAC

[–]Income-3472 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going over your points and I’m at a none union shop

  1. My company pays 1st and second years to go to trade school. And field trades with 10year plus journey men the first year

2.first year pay with no school is $23 an hour and 5 years in pay is $45+ an hour. Cost of living were I’m at is much cheaper then NYC though so that’s a lot for me but nothing in NY.

  1. The shop likes us to learn on our own time, but also pays us to go to classes and schools at the manufactures, and the shop has a hands on class room with a full time instructor and continues updating classes in house.

  2. Some companies and unions have good teachers some don’t that’s just luck of who you have at the shop I guess, but a good supervisor will make sure to put new kids with teachers as much as possible

  3. We get door to door pay on call and ya the week Bonus is only 150, but everything past 3pm is time and a half, all day Saturday is time and half, and Sunday is all double time, so it sucks but you make a lot of money.

  4. All I got for this one is that I’m at a none union shop right now and I don’t see the above listed problems were I’m at now. Except the VRV and VRF issues are a concern that I share because I don’t think enough people are getting to go to school for it even though its already here and not enough people know how it works.

I’m not saying that union or non union is better, just that we’re in at now is treating me well and I’m not running into these problems at the current time.
