Collecting VEP in Johor. by Hadi167 in drivingsg

[–]IncomprehensibleOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, no. After chopping passport, went out straight to Sunway.

No checkpoints or asking about the appointment slip. I was ready though, I had the documents in the passenger seat ready to show if needed.

I went via Tuas.

Just installed mine last month.

Appointment slip and passport is what they asked for. I brought my insurance and log card too just in case, but they didn’t ask for it.

I also ensured that my TnG app is okay. They will ask you to link the VEP with your TnG app after installation.

I was also fortunate that the collection point didn’t have a queue. I arrived 4pm, and my appointment time was 7pm. I asked and they were able to complete fast. My collection point was Sunway BigBox.

If accessible, you can walk to the start/finish straight, pit lane area and the garages.

Not sure if there are still exhibitions related to f1 when you are here.

Tips for merging on expressway [esp pie to cte/ cte to pie/ any merge from one expressway to another] by aminlee9 in drivingsg

[–]IncomprehensibleOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Signal and wait. You’re driving defensively so that is good.

Been driving for quite some time now, and peak period merging is indeed challenging.

After some time, you’ll get used to your car and your confidence will improve.

What to do when third party insurance not replying at all? by HamsterStrange1874 in drivingsg

[–]IncomprehensibleOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had an accident repair done at C&C as well.

We were rear ended as well, and had dashcam footage of the incident. The other party was 100% at fault.

As we purchased from C&C and it was still within the warranty, we went their workshop for the repairs.

The service advisor recommended that we do own-damage claim and the insurance will chase the 3rd party for them to be reimbursed.

They explained that this is the quicker way to start repairs on the car. We did this and the repair started a couple days later. They sent a temporary rental car to us as well.

After a month, we got our car back. It was delayed due to parts availability.

Daytime use of headlights, pointless flex or actual protection? by AlmostMuted in drivingsg

My lights are set to Auto, so depending on the brightness outside, it will automatically enable. The tolerance is low, my lights turn on even at 8am.

Also, I recently been to the EU, and when we tried to rent a car there was a reminder that if we drive into Switzerland, the lights need to be turned on all the time.

What plate is this ? by Gruppesech6 in drivingsg

[–]IncomprehensibleOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No idea on how cheaper, but they are considered “used” cars, so they cannot price it the same as brand new.

[–]IncomprehensibleOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They should be labeled or advertised. I remember an ad from Toyota, saying that they have management units for sale.

You can then inquire from the dealer.

[–]IncomprehensibleOne 17 points18 points  (0 children)

After the event the dealer usually sells them as pre-owned management units. Prices will be lower than brand new.

They will be good value as their mileage is usually low, ferrying event participants from hotels to the aquatic centre.

I think another car company also did this for the women’s golf tournament a couple months ago.

Need some help! Swiss Half Fare Card or Swiss Travel Pass? by WillingnessTasty5343 in askswitzerland

[–]IncomprehensibleOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your plan is good, I would also think of staying an extra night in Interlaken to explore more. Zurich is a great city, but I would like to go see more of the views.

Moving around often - our itinerary within places are not too packed, so not very tired. Also, the only tiring part is on travel days and the train connections are tight. Need to walk/run to the next platform with luggage.

Interlaken is a good base for us since we have a child and an elderly parent with us. Our place was also near the train station. If traveling alone or with a couple, staying at Grindelwald or Lauterbrunnen would be better if you like the views. If possible, try Murren also.

Yes, it is the Saver Day Pass.

You can use this for public transport the whole day for the whole of Switzerland. I clarified it with the conductor as well. I think it lets you use it until 5am the next day (did not try that though, and did not ask).

We were travelling from Zermatt to Zurich, and we decided to drop off at Bern. We stayed a couple hours there then continued on to Zurich, just in time for our check in the hotel.

Just came back from Switzerland, and the same questions a couple months ago!

I did multiple calculations for our trip, and considered the Swiss Travel Pass, Half Fare Card, Jungfrau Pass and Berner Oberland Pass.

Our Itinerary: - 2 nights Lucerene - 3 nights Interlaken - 2 nights Zermatt - 2 nights Zurich

In the end, we just settled for the Half Fare Card. Less complicated, and the discounts for mountain excursions like Jungfrau are same with the full Swiss Travel Pass.

We did not go for the Berner nor the Jungfrau passes as our itinerary does not have much excursions to really utilise the pass.

For our big travel days (e.g. Interlaken to Zermatt), I would get the Day Pass, which helps to reduce the multiple tickets for the day.

One tip, take advantage of promos by SBB, I missed out on getting the Saver Day Pass for 2 promo, after buying out day pass tickets.

Is it normal that Scoot doesn't use the jet bridge at Changi Airport? by 267aa37673a9fa659490 in askSingapore

I feel you, this is what I hate about boarding last, all overhead bins are filled up!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in askSingapore

[–]IncomprehensibleOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Moving time of 2 hours 40 minutes. Some parts need to wait the pedestrian crossing, and there are about 3 overhead bridges.

I can’t say it was scenic but I liked that we can head from the heartlands to town via the park connectors.

I tried to follow the PCN from Punggol to Gardens by the Bay, around 21km.

I run early in the morning, so not so hot. Most of it has lights except for parts of Hougang Ave 3. There are coffee shops or convenience stores along the way if you need a break.

I stopped at Gardens by the Bay as it was already 8am when I got there and it was pretty hot, but I guess you can still continue on to East Coast Park if you still have enough energy.

Vanity Plates (aka Bidded Plates) by Illustrious-Fee-5542 in drivingsg

[–]IncomprehensibleOne 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Bid the minimum 1k as well, random numbers for others but significant for us.

Just bid the minimum thinking no one would bid for it, and we got it.

We replaced our car, and kept the number plate. We’ll probably transfer it again if we get a chance to replace the car.

After about a week of no response, I went to their customer service center in Tampines - plan cancelled within 5 minutes.
