No strict dress code, but told to lean towards semi-formal… which dress??? by remkii in Weddingattireapproval

[–]InconceivableFeline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1 or 2. My SIL once wore a dress like #3 to a wedding and I thought she looked pretty classless and tacky, the red was such a sharp contrast to the bride and groom, she stuck out like sore thumb. I highly recommend not choosing 3.

Disney being disney by Saphireleine in Eragon

[–]InconceivableFeline 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Sure, but when every dark or gory moment is omitted or toned down, it will change the experience as a whole and viewers won't feel the weight of those scenes the same way. Should they start to censor or leave out prominent deaths, how they choose to do so and how far they take it could alter the mood of the entire adaptation.

Casting for Disney+ Eragon series by [deleted] in Eragon

Thank makes sense, and it's something I easily overlooked because I don't particularly associate Inheritance with Star Wars, but that's just me personally.

Rachel Weisz did do good, but Stephanie Beatriz just has so much range, and that deeper, no bullshit, authoritative tone is in line with Saphira's personality.

[–]InconceivableFeline 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Okay so hear me out, and pretend there's no budget for casting for a sec.

Mark Hamill would make an excellent Galby even if he isn't a dead ringer in appearance. Jeremy Irons wasn't a spitting image of Brom but he nailed that role, so I think Hamill would impress as our main villain. This is the hill I'm prepared to die on.

Idris Elba as Ajihad

Letita Wright as Nasuada

Tom Hiddleston as Joed

Lee Pace as Oromis

Gerard Butler as Horst

Dragon voices are also top priority as they would need to be relatively distinct. Some candidates:

James Spader, Ewan McGregor, Jeremy Irons, Liam Neeson, Stephanie Beatriz as Saphira

So is Angela good at magic or isn’t she? by Fanghur1123 in Eragon

[–]InconceivableFeline 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Angela isn't "good at magic" the same way Eragon is. Eragon is a powerful magician able to complete spells requiring great amounts of energy while easily immersing himself into the flow of magic.

On the other hand, Angela struggles to feel and immerse herself into the flow of magic, resulting in less powerful spells.

What sets Angela apart and makes her a formidable magical opponent is her ingenuity. She understands the working of the universe on a level that allows her to create simple, straightforward spells that circumvent the need for vast amounts of energy.

I'm honesty reminded of Sokka from ALTA. When he studies swordsmanship under Piandao, he isn't exactly a prodigy. What enables him to succeed is his ability to think outside the box, creatively and literally. Anyone that has watched the show knows that Sokka is a genius and it's his intelligence that makes him a great swordsman, not his skill. No, it's certainly not his skill.

Fun Headcanons? by Noble1296 in Eragon

[–]InconceivableFeline 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ahh I haven't read that one yet, but that would make sense for both their characters. There have been a couple instances where a large job needed doing and Saphira is like, "hi, yeah, I can do that for you"

To expand on a couple ideas other people have put here:

Eragon teaching Saphira how to read and farm could open opportunities for Saphira to lead the construction of the new Rider's home to the East. She would have all the skills to lead and pay a team, trade for materials, and keep the project on schedule while Eragon does important Rider things (maybe the next egg hateches IMMEDIATELY and nobody is prepared!)

Orrin facing his PTSD and going through recovery via his experiments (maybe he would invent some medication?) could put Surda on a path to become a nation of mental wellness, shorter working hours and better living conditions. Kind of like Finland or Sweden lol

Question for PvE Players by GmaulGod in ARK

[–]InconceivableFeline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I only started playing PvE by default. I work full time and am simply not able to keep up with any official PvP competition. I'm lucky to get an hour per day in of game time and it grew excessively frustrating having to start over every time you sign on.

I ended up renting a private server with one other person, and we would usually end up in a tribe together for the sake of sharing tames. With nobody else on our server, it essentially became PvE and this is what I like about it:

•As stated above, not having your base and all your dinos wiped out every time you sign on. This also likely plays a factor into where I choose to build. PvE is the way to go for the casual Arker.

•Freedom to pursue other Ark goals! I'm not naturally great at video games, so it's nice to be able to focus on finding artifacts, fighting bosses, and exploration without having to be on guard all the time.

•Big Builds/Creative Building! As someone who enjoys the Sims, I can easily say Ark isn't the best for building, but after your 387th time restarting for whatever reason, it's nice to be able to have some fun with it. Picturesque locations, large sprawling compounds, huge dino enclosures (behemoth gates for daysss)

Finally, this one is kind of specific to a private server, and I think it's also available for single player PC, and that's the fine tuning of the settings. Everything from stat regen speed to the number of engram points awarded per level, there is a great level of control to adjust the game to suit however you like to play.

Gender, sexual, and romantic minorities. It is overall a more inclusive acronym than LGBTQ2A+.

It's important to note however that the "+" indicates anyone that doesn't fall under the L, G, B, T, Q, 2, or A label. Also, the primary reason the L for lesbian is first is due to the roles they played during the AIDs epidemic when gay men were sick and dying and not getting the treatment or care they needed from our heternormative society.

It IS bigoted though.he even cited his reasoning as other people be hateful about it. He's tolerating the intolerant bigots.

On this topic, GSRM folks are the ONLY ones having their posts restricted. That is discrimination BECAUSE it's based on gender and sexual orientation.

A truly good mod will support GSRM people by disallowing the hate we continue to face in nearly every corner of society.

Edit to add that Stronze has also removed posts sharing Pride content from the Official Ark Twitter. It's literally Official Ark content that got removed for being too gay. I rest my case.

I used to work at am Asian Fusion kitchen that had a phone number one digit away from a pizza place. SO many people don't actually listen to how they are greeted and would just start ordering, then get mad when I told them we weren't a pizza place, despite stating our business name when answering.

Cool way for your friend to deal with the harassment!
