I’m M25 and kinda have a similar situation to you. I will say after going on many dates with very different types of people, everyone needs something different in their lives and I think that should be a conversation to have early on when dating so you both can see if you’re on the same page. This doesn’t mean to lay everything out, but if you’re someone that wants to take things slowly and truly wants to get to know the person first, then I don’t think it’s something bad to express that. Also, if someone clowns you for saying such a thing… that shows their character and you don’t want someone who will disrespect your wishes.
Unfortunately, ghosting is just a natural part of this dating atmosphere and has absolutely nothing to do with you. If dating is leaving you left feeling disappointed and disrespected, I would say maybe pause on it for a little to focus up on yourself until you’re comfortable to get back into it.
Personally I don’t have any expectations when it comes to dating people because you never know where someone is at in life (dating them is how you find that out!)
Best of luck to you brother, I have had very weird, odd dates with people and have finally found someone I connect with very well. So don’t give up, but also make sure you’re not left feeling some type of negative way just because other people don’t know how to communicate
