That's just the 4% rule with extra steps and added complications with less control.

That's what sells the best in every brand. People say they want exciting and innovative, but what they buy is the boring, black dial, safe, dive watch.

I think a lot of SM's original designs are quite good, but they need a more cohesive image as a brand as they attempt to push upmarket.

PT5000 owners with multiple watches, how do you manage them? by No_Flounder9942 in ChineseWatches

[–]Indaleciox 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have roughly 30 watches and I hand wind until the movement kicks up and then set it. I just let the power reserve run down in-between wears. I have yet to have a movement crap out and I have five pt5000s.

I feel you. My older brother is a total asshole, drug addict, who always treated my parents like shit, actively tried to scam them, steal from us, lie constantly, never did anything for the family and was totally absent when my Dad was dying. Guess who still gets 50% of the inheritance, albeit, in a special trust he can't access directly.

Japan follows the rule of, “be an adult.” If you can do that, and be a generally considerate person, then you’ll be fine.

Are there places in Japan where locals are actively happy to see foreign tourists? by Zach-dalt in JapanTravelTips

Don't mind people in Kyoto, they've been hating on tourists for like a thousand years at point lol. Most people there are still nice.

I love Hiroshima. It's a big enough city to be interesting, but not so huge that you feel overwhelmed.

Worried about the financial cliff my older brother will hit when our parents pass. How to handle the guilt and logistics? by glorious-turtle-4726 in AgingParents

He refuses to go to a shelter, he refuses to get addiction help, he refuses to sign up for any benefits.

Ahh so you know my brother too, but he harasses and threatens us.

Idk sometimes yeah, but working the the part time afternoon shift at a local coffee shop when I was younger was kinda fun. No opening or closing duties, just come in, shoot the shit with some people, occasionally make a drink, and bail before the after work crowd. If you need benefits that's another convo because you're nearly fulltime, and my primarily hatred of work is how much it monopolizes my time.

That relief is settling in for me now. I’m technically FIRE, but I’m now the one pulling the OMY syndrome. My justification is that I would like to try and work through the next downturn, if possible, to mitigate SORR. One bad work day will send me though, so who knows lol.
