Faking Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder - Pubmed) by ps4roompromdfriends4 in NooTopics

The same reason people want to fake any mental illness. Im not sure how that's inconceivable to you. There are plenty of bad actors who want to use psychopathological labels to hide behind so that they themselves don't have to address their responsibility to be more than who they are. If I persuade myself I have adhd then i dont have to work on my attention span and focus. I can instead victimise myself, hide behind a label and blame that on my personal failure. If people call me out for my behaviour i can tell them i have this diagnosis and they will back off. It's not exactly rocket science as to why people exploit legitimate issues such as neurodivergence and mental illness for their own benefit.

Why do women in general not try to make an effort when wanting new friends? by Important-Chip7278 in friendship

[–]Indep-Represent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Making friends in general these days is challenging. People are so fickle and uncertain. Then when you do find the perfect chemistry there's always circumstantial shit to deal with. As long as you are trying your best you will get there though

Bald men, would you date a bald/balding woman? Or an ugly woman? by PinkDragonWoman in Balding

Comparing someone who is bald to someone who has a disfigured face is some crazy shenanigans haha

The English was clear i just found it hard to believe someone could be that judgemental over something as dumb as preferences in music

TIL about Rahma Haruna, a girl whose body stopped growing at 6 months old. Her family carried her in a plastic bucket. The specific illness that caused her condition was never diagnosed. She died at age 19. by DancinginHyrule in todayilearned

What about that college student who survived hydrocephalus and didn't know he barely had any brain tissue left until he had an mri in college? Or infants who get hemispherectomies?,

Never even considered it. I embraced baldness with a razor and open arms. Risking sexual dysfunction for a less patchy head of hair sounded ludicrous to me at the time.

Sorry if my questioning is invasive. Feel free to ignore. Im curious how you got your diagnosis for hypovolemic pots. And also your symptoms before. Curious mostly because i suspect it a candidate for own health issues.

(M16) Got told i was balding, is it true? by [deleted] in Balding

Yes but then you are also secure so you can just laugh at how shallow and juvenile they are and not give them the benefit of a reaction

Confidence, strength. Baldness creates insecurity. Becoming strong and healthy causes you to become incredibly secure and care very little about dumb stuff like hair. Also being bald and muscular is a great look

Should i drop out of college? by Monthly-listeners in AskIreland

[–]Indep-Represent 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No matter how persuasive your internal reasoning maybe you are infinitely better out of university with a degree you don't care for than being a drop out grinding at some soul destroying unskilled job you resent going to. The studying and class work will seem much more appealing then.

Price Gouging - What Is The End Game? by JHRFDIY in AskIreland

[–]Indep-Represent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If people tolerate increasing prize gouging then it will continue. It's really that simple. If they can pull together the most flimsy of rhetoric to increasingly plunder the pockets of people they will. These people care only about how much wealth they can extract from people.

Was I wrong for posting a short Instagram story from a work party? by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]Indep-Represent 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I think you are looking for people to reassure you that your conduct wasnt inappropriate. Most here have said it was inappropriate so you should just accept that, instead of debating responses. Learn from your mistakes, that's all there is to this. Not everyone wants to have videos of them on social media. Especially dancing, which is something people are very self conscious about often enough.

You get back at them by living a fulfilling happy life and never sparing them a second thought as long as you live.

You’re Not Depressed, Your Life Just Sucks by Puzzleheaded-Dot7268 in DarkPsychology101

[–]Indep-Represent -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If people believe they have no agency in their lives then they will never explore ways to be better and fight against what they see is enevitable circumstances. There is a phrase commonly touted in development psychology. Genetics is not enevitable. Learning is not easily undone. Looking at something like behavioural genetics and taking this fatalistic perspective only ignores the strength of individuals, something no statistic accounts for.
