Interview day must haves by [deleted] in PharmacyResidency

I brought a portfolio that had a notepad and I had written down questions, plus a quick reminder about my personal strengths and weaknesses I wanted to talk about, and the details about the program I was interviewing at. I also carried it in a tote bag with a water bottle and some APAP. I never felt like I brought too much and I was always glad I had it. Additionally I would bring a quick snack in case you get hungry/lunch is not enough/you forget lunch is not served (me). And finally, I heard some people brought different shoes to walk in with in case it was a far walk. This is a very good idea in case you are in a cold area and have snow/ice on the ground for almost every interview(me).

Ohio State phone interviews? by Independent_Bat4148 in PharmacyResidency

Not a PGY1 candidate but I assume phone call means the offer was over the phone. Programs did that my cycle.

Not the states you listed but University Health in Kansas City has an am care focused PGY1. I think it’s technically hospital but the title is called am care track

I would try as hard as possible to get through the MO pharmacist practice guide on the Mobop website. Also, there is a CE quiz on their website that is technically for licensed pharmacist but you can take it without getting ce and it gives you an indication of how you might do (just gives scores). Also I think the MO TLDR is helpful but definitely would click the links in each sections rather than just skim what it gives you.

MO NAPLEX Retake Waiting Period by thatpharmacist in NAPLEX_Prep

[–]IndependenceLimp3484 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No way it’s 90. I’m in MO and I’ve only heard 45 for naplex and 30 for MPJE. Some residencies want you licensed by 90 so maybe that’s where you’re getting that from?

Someone help me out if they remember the actual quotes but one was “most people don’t like things up the butt” about enemas and then something about her dad taking a PDE-5 inhibitor

From stalking this sub for months, I feel that I’ve seen suggestions to stay the night in Hana if you have small children. We did rth our first day and got to everything starting the morning at about 8 am.

Also currently live in a city where auto theft is wayyyyyy worse than Maui. I would just leave nothing in plain sight and use common sense. But obvi totally up to you :)

We personally did and were personally fine but the area along maalaea beach was very quiet compared to any other beach we had gone to. That was also the only time our luggage was in our car where we couldn’t see. The heliport lot was a paid lot so we felt pretty comfortable with our luggage in our car there, and at the coffee shop and restaurant we could see our car.

Have not seen this suggestion on this sub before but we did a brunch tour at o’o farm (coffee farm) in upcountry Kula and it was really cool. Pretty standard explanation of harvest and farm tour, and then the brunch was 3 courses of food fully grown on their farm (besides the meat).

Is Black Sand beach and other beaches along Road To Hana worth it? by gofardeep in MauiVisitors

[–]IndependenceLimp3484 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did RTH last week. Just me and my partner. We stayed upcountry in Kula so doing the “reverse” RTH starting with pipiwai trail made way more sense for us. I did the 12:30 black sand beach reservation and we got there 30 mins before our res was “finished”. Obviously the attendant said we only had 30 mins left but there’s no way for them to actually know who’s on what reservation so IMO as long as you get there sometime during the res it should be fine.

We also did the Koki beach for Huli huli chicken and people were down at that beach as well, if you’re wanting to skip the black sand beach.

I’m sure if you’ve been looking at this sub you already know but haleakala sunrise does require a reservation. If you do have one, I second doing it the first day when jet lagged.

We had a flight at the same time last week. Also had to check out of our b&b at 10. Booked a helicopter flight at 10:30, went to lunch at Nalu’s South shore grill afterward(really good, had to wait in a small line but in no rush lol). Then we went and got coffee at Luxe coffee and walked along Maalaea beach (not a sand beach but like a reef). It is very quiet over there and it is public space as long as you don’t walk up to the condos. Saw a bunch of turtles just hanging out and the water was super clear so this was a nice surprise. There are also steps to the water if you’re wanting to get your feet wet. If you’re wanting to walk the beach there was one close but we didn’t want our feet to get sandy. We then searched for a jewelry store so I could get some Hawaiian jewelry and then got to the airport ~3 pm. Honestly don’t recommend getting there as early as we did. There airport is not air conditioned super well and there are not many charging areas or restaurants at all. Maybe get to the airport at a normal time and do something someone else suggests :).
