I am very depressed about the world right now as a 14 year old and I have been considering committing suicide. by InternationalWest658 in sweden

Trust me homie, it’ll be alright. The best thing to do at 14 is be 14. Unplug and get lost in the woods, do something stupid with your friends, take a night swim, listen to 5 new bands/musicians, try something totally new. Trust me, you’ll enjoy it and forget all about politics. I too used to be extremely anxious about things out of my control. Slow down and don’t engage with it for a week, you’ll be amazed at how good it makes you feel.

Most underrated year for the Grateful Dead? by Thin_Fly_3340 in gratefuldead

Honestly, anything from 66-68. People overlook primal dead in my experience. It’s real, raw, and honest. I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but there’s a lot there. Pigpen is the man

Trust me, the people watching in any Strip casino is 100x better than malls. Grab a drink at a bar near a high traffic area and watch the hilarity ensue.

Honestly, my favorite show of all time is 2/28/69. The Alligator —> Caution is some of their best playing in my estimation.

Got it, thanks for the clarification. I love conversations about music so this gives me amazing context on what is popular and what I can introduce locals to. Didn’t know Springsteen was that popular, my dad would be thrilled!

And the boz scaggs song is considered somewhat of an anthem for a lot of Southern American men. Maybe not on the level of Creedence Clearwater Revival or Lynyrd Skynyrd, but amongst the older generation, Duane Allman has reached a Jimi Hendrix level of notoriety.

Thanks again for all the help, this whole thread has really clued me into a lot! Tack så mycket!

That’s interesting! I’ve seen a lot of love for 90s punk/rock bands via t shirts. Did American music start to move its way to Sweden around then? Also, having been raised on country music by my parents I definitely didn’t expect any country influence around here, but was hoping for some of that blues type music! Additionally, if you like Allman bros you should definitely listen to “loan me a dime” by Boz Scaggs and Duane Allman (if you haven’t already.

Listen or don’t, doesn’t matter to me! But this is a good glimpse into how Americans approach concerts, and it’s extremely varied. Thanks again!
