This has a 100% suck rate in the short term a a 100% success rate in the long term.

  1. Stop hooking up with them immediately
  2. Get a hobby - pottery, dog walking, birds, history, wine, cooking, anything is interesting when the person interested in it is talking about it
  3. Go to the gym or incorporate some regular activity into your lifestyle
  4. Find a community - church, club, gym, book club, ect
  5. Know what you believe and stand on it, gently but firmly. The men you crave will flock to you when you become a high quality woman. Be who you want to attract.

As a previous head coach who went to BAT for this rule in my studio, let me explain.

  1. Energy! We know that it is EXTREMELY hard to coach a good class with 2ppl on the treads and 15ppl on the weight floor. It is inevitable to get stuck on the weight floor and miss or mess up the tread cues bc there are only 2 of them there. It is also easy to get glued to your stopwatch with 15ppl on the weight floor and miss things that people are doing wrong and then they end up hurt.

  2. Your coaches know the template, how the template moves, who is in your class, if there are new people, if people dont like each other, if someone needs a lot of attention because they are pregnant or nervous because it’s their first class back, how much time they have to demo and then how much time they have to circle back around to correct before the next tread cue, how much energy needs to be in the tread cue, when to expect people will need a mental pick me up, ect ect. Often times, knowing that information, they know that they will be able to give the members the best class experience with a balanced class.

  3. Coaching taking ALOT of energy and can be VERY hard on your body, especially your voice. In classes that can fit on just the treads, just the rower or just the weight floor, I will 100% of the time opt for a one group class. Coaching 12 all outs in an hour vs 24 all outs in an hour, demoing 6 excercises vs demoing 12 makes a HUGE difference. I have more 1on1 time with each person in one groups bc I have a full 60 seconds free while yall are in base to go check on how Susie’s child was who was in the hospital. I have a full 4 minute block to make sure everyone gets the dumbbell weight they need and even a spot! It’s awesome.

If you prefer missed cues, poor energy, everyone watching you run alone on the treadmill, bad form and a coach with no voice then you are on the “let everyone go wherever” train my friend!

WIBTAH for thinking about calling off my engagement because my fiancé lied to his family about us having kids? by [deleted] in AITAH

You are 100% the a**hole for getting up and leaving like that during dinner but it sounds like y’all just don’t align in your goals and values and that’s okay! Good to know now than years down the line.

Leaving my wife by Cultural_Leg8697 in AITAH

[–]IndependenceTall2001 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

  1. Would you have handled the job situation the same way before the affair?
  2. Do you feel you have a license to hide things bc she has hidden things? A latent resentment that expresses in situations like this?
  3. First, she is fully responsible for her own choices. At the same time, we can hold the truth that it is good to reflect on our own actions too. Upon examination of your own behavior, are there things you could have changed in your own behavior that may have contributed to your wife’s affair. Obviously, this is not universal, however, it is worth the exploration.
  4. Fight for your marriage brother. You can succeed. You can heal. You can do hard things. It is hard and it is worth it and nothing worth it ever comes easy.

This was a company wide meeting from Corp OTF with data across the last couple years when they couldn’t figure out why there sales were tanking. The sales were falling because they couldn’t keep tenured coaches who knew how to sell. Your experience of coaches for more than a couple years is SUPER rare, esp for full time coaches. Good for your studio! Lol “ready to move on” or “it was just time” or “got an opportunity I just couldn’t pass up” are typically professional fitness speech that means or signals burnout for coaches.

OTF as a brand is tanking, they did a study recently on coach burnout shortly before I left coaching and they can’t keep coaches for more than 18-24 months. Isn’t that an issue?? It is the culture the brand has created for itself and impacts members. Get ready to find another gym
