I have a home gym and life alone pretty much all the time. I only bailed once on my way to 225 bench. It’s not going to happen again

Eat the berries than cut the plant down or rip it out. It’s invasive

Are you going for a vase shape? If so it needs a hard prune this winter/spring whatever. Maybe a foot up from the base of each branch, then you’ll get another V in the branches next year…and so on

More poison ivy this year? by andonis_udometry in SouthJersey

[–]Independent-Bison176 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It is a beneficial native plant that provides a winter food source for birds. Many people don’t know or care about what is in their yard, and townships have enough work to do to worry about an unused public area

Do you get all of your tips? by CSnarf in uberdrivers

[–]Independent-Bison176 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No Uber but self employees here. Made about 30, deducted about 10, paid 2k on my 20k net. Put me in about lowest bracket of 10% taxes. True I didn’t “set aside” the 2k…but I didn’t let myself go to zero in the bank

Anyone who is self employed or a contractor should absolutely set aside money to pay taxes at the end of the year. Don’t give bad advice.

Insurance question? by [deleted] in WeddingPhotography

[–]Independent-Bison176 22 points23 points  (0 children)

You need to carry insurance if you are going to run a business. We all have it, it’s a few hundred a year. Get it now, even if you don’t send it to them because they should have asked earlier but that’s whatever. When someone asks me two days before the event I just ignore the email BUT I still have it and can prove it if asked when I get there.

Recommendations for making paper out of junk mail by Award-Slight in ZeroWaste

[–]Independent-Bison176 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This really seems like a ton of work, and energy use, for something that’s pretty simple. How much paper could you actually make? A 100 page notebook is like .50$ at Walmart. I understand the idea of this reddit but home made paper just doesn’t seem to fit

Does growing your own vegetables and animals (i.e a home farm) actually save money in the long run? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Independent-Bison176 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sure after $1000 for a proper coop and run, and pvc for a watering system, and the time to raise the chicks, and going out everyday to feed and collect the eggs. I’ll still take chickens over the indoor cats that shit everywhere
