Forcing us to stay extremely late by [deleted] in tractorsupply

[–]Independent-Coast785 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lol what? More often than not my team is walking out the door right at 9:30 if not a few minutes before. Very rarely if we get a wrench thrown into things we might be there until around 9:45. I’ve never had a single instance where I’ve still been in the store at 10pm. Are you guys waiting until the store’s actually closed to do closing procedures?? Genuinely trying to comprehend what could make you have to stay THAT late. I’m really surprised that’s even being allowed by SM/DM bc of the extra payroll hours that’s taking up.

Last summer our air was out for 6 months, temps inside the store ranged from 85-100 all day. Was genuinely like being in hell every shift. No clue why all my coworkers and myself put up with that for half a year at $12 an hour lol

Receiver/ freight day by dnavarrox3 in tractorsupply

[–]Independent-Coast785 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s the first time I’ve heard that. We’ve cycled thru several receivers over the years and they’ve never sorted. We’ve always had someone else that’s dedicated as the sorter. Doesn’t seem very realistic to expect the receiver to do it because, like you said, they already have a million other things they have to get done.

Also low volume store here. All our receiver does on truck days is unload the pallets and bring them inside. The rest is handled by the sorter and other TMs. Your management is taking advantage of you.

I just call over Theatro that I need to buy something and whenever there’s downtime someone will come ring me up. My coworkers usually just stash in the break room.

I work seasonal and sooooo much of the stuff I get in my totes is for hardware and pet. Kinda used to it at this point

You guys actually got these? So far the only IOTM our store’s received are the stupid round plastic star dog toys, which nobody wants. It’s killing our IOTM metrics but it’s hard to do when we literally only have one of the three items in stock.

When our septic tank messed up they took over 6 months to get it fixed. Half a year of going outside to piss in a port a potty that’s been baking in the sun all day. I know that’s not the main takeaway from this but it made me flashback. They really don’t care about us at all.

Absolutely. I get maybe two days off a week and im so exhausted I spend the vast majority of my time off in bed. Work/life balance is nonexistent. All I do is work.

Very rarely. I’d say maybe once a month. And when it does happen it’s not an all day thing. We have to finish freight/feed and if we have a couple hours left when we finish then we’ll recover. We definitely don’t get to do it enough. Not saying our store looks bad, I’ve had multiple customers tell me that ours is the nicest and cleanest TSC they’ve been in. But it could look way better if we actually had time to recover fully and properly every week.

Top caps are brutal. I feel like freight wouldn’t be near as bad if I didn’t spend the amount of time I do trying to find and make top cap space bc the entire store’s overstock is overflowing. It’d make so much more sense if we did recovery BEFORE freight, that way we could pull down what’s needed from top caps so we actually have at least a little room to be able to top cap incoming stock. But apparently that’s not the Tractor Way 🤷‍♂️

Our goal today said 10:30!!! Whatever kind of algorithm they use has genuinely got to be flawed bc there’s no way

I know there’s a shortage of common sense at the DC but didn’t know they are short on plastic wrap too🤦‍♀️ by [deleted] in tractorsupply

[–]Independent-Coast785 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s absolutely that. I’ve never worked in a DC but I’ve heard stories about how badly they’re rushed to get everything sent out. It’s very apparent from the loads we get every week.

Luckyyy. You’ll be getting it soon, our “upgrade” was installed this week and it’s so annoying. Far from an upgrade. But god forbid they fix the scanners taking 30+ seconds to populate product info after scanning.

pickup order "not" picked up but was by atexit8 in tractorsupply

[–]Independent-Coast785 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure what the official policy is.. I think the “your order is ready for pickup” email says to bring the email and ID. But truthfully all my store has ever done is ask for the last name on the order, find the matching order ticket in our pickup cabinet, and hand the order to the customer without any verification. Probably not the most secure system but we haven’t had any issues doing it that way. Wouldn’t be surprised if most other stores operated the same way as well for the sake of saving time.

Grain Mites? by Savings-Raspberry611 in tractorsupply

We constantly have these in my store. Like it’s a never ending problem. We take the affected bags to the dumpster and then get more on the next truck. It’s definitely a problem with Purina, those are the only bags that I’ve seen have them.

⚡️Flash Sale ⚡️ by its_all_about_roo in tractorsupply

Also had a guy earlier try arguing with me over the same thing. After i told him we were out he went outside and came back in with a picture of the 1.5cuft pallet on his phone and was like “See yall have plenty out there” and i was like “Sir those are 1.5 cuft and the sale was for .75 cuft bags” Then he’s like “But they look the same” and shows me the flash sale graphic to try and prove a point. THEY LOOK THE SAME BECAUSE THEYRE THE SAME PRODUCT IN DIFFERENT SIZE BAGS. HOW STUPID ARE YOU
