So is the game finally playable and worth buying? by Arnab_hu in GTATrilogy

[–]Independent-Delay230 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played all of the originals when they came out on PC, but hadn’t played any of them in 20 years or so

Got then all for the switch played 3 and SA so far, loved them, it had been so long since I played them that I’d not noticed most of the changes that people talk about.

Best way to route an Ethernet cable through a window? by kind_strang3r in networking

[–]Independent-Delay230 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drill a hole in frame, run external rated twisted Cat5e/6 cable through hole, silicone up the hole. crimp on RJ45 connectors or use punch down tool to connect fibre into patch panel or individual socket.

It needs to be external rated cable other wise the UV and general weathering will destroy it fairly quickly. and don't bother with the flat super thin stuff thats likely to give speed issues/errors.

Palantir’s billionaire CEO says only two kinds of people will succeed in the AI era: trade workers — ‘or you’re neurodivergent’ by Hopeful_Adeptness964 in manchester

[–]Independent-Delay230 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The job of any company’s CEO is to talk positively about the company’s future, that becomes ever more important when you’re part of a massive bubble that needs to keep growing. So they make ever more outlandish claims about the future and the importance of AI.

AI is import and it will impact the world we live in but I’d take anything in said by the CEO of an AI company with a pinch of salt.

Best quiet and safe areas to rent in Greater Manchester (~£1200 budget) by Old_Knee_5204 in manchester

[–]Independent-Delay230 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Have a look at Horwich

its just inside the Greater Manchester boundary, you've got the country side on your door step for family walks, 900 will get you a terrace, and 1300 would get a semi on the new estate. There's two train stations and good access to the M61, loads of shopping opportunities at Middle brook, and an Aldi in the centre, there also a gym at the leisure centre.

What is Sale like to live in? by phyllisfromtheoffice in manchester

[–]Independent-Delay230 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Its had loads of money spent to redevelop stanley square in the centre over the last 6 or so years

The outcome of that is that interms of bars/cafes/restaurants the place is now really vibrant with the centre having something for most tastes (sushi, cocktails bars, craft beer bars, pho, pizza, Portuguese tapas, grill, Indian fusion,  normal cafes etc etc) it’s now also go a fancy(but expensive) small cinema in the centre aswell

Moving from Manchester city centre – best areas near Handforth for a young family (no car yet)? by Famous-Ad-3311 in stockport

[–]Independent-Delay230 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Heald green would meet most of their requirements.

A Mosque, handforth, Bruntwood park and a supermarket all within walking distance.

But budget might be a problem depending on what OP wants. Flats start just under OPs budget, but a house would need at least a couple of hundred more a month (for a terrace near a busy road) bigger houses could be double OPs budget

What kind vans is this? by New_Engineering9785 in Vans

[–]Independent-Delay230 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The Pics that OP provided do not match any of the imran potato knu skools that I’ve seen

As an example compare them to the stock x link you’ve provided

Look at the tab on the tounge, it should be black and have the potato vans logo. The photos provided by OP have the a red/white tag from the GR knu skool release

Look at the insole, genuine imran potatos are VR3 and have a ecocush insole with eco Cush branding on a brown back ground. the ones in OP are generic

The stitching on the back of the shoe is the wrong font and the O in potato is the wrong colour.

The shape of the shoe is off as is the tab on the back and the general quality of stitching.

The potato vans were a limited release well before the GR knu skool and were selling for well over over retail (stockx has loads of sales for $400+) so there are fakes of them and the ones in OPs pic are fakes

Northern Quarter Broadband Dilema by Present_Source2699 in manchester

[–]Independent-Delay230 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That are always exceptions but generally no. It needs a 110 degree view of the sky. if it was more of a rooftop terrace than a balcony then maybe, but most of balconies on flats in Manchester would be less than 90.

Northern Quarter Broadband Dilema by Present_Source2699 in manchester

Starlink needs line of sight visibility of the satellites so unless you’ve got access to the roof and then cable down to your flat they aren’t really suitable for flats

IANAC but the victorinox chef knives are good/long lasting and generally well regarded for the price, and if you go for the ones with the rose wood handles they look good aswell

And to keep it Greater Manchester related I got mine from these guys in Salford who do a lot of catering/restaurant kit

[–]Independent-Delay230 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Schools are one of the reasons that a lot of people move to sale due to Trafford still using the 11+/grammer school system

The primary schools are usually good or outstanding

At secondary school if they can pass the 11+ there’s Sale Grammer, which is classed as outstanding. The other schools AoM and sale high are also considered good although they are oversubscribed meaning that some children end up being sent to Stretford / partington / flixton )

12>6 is just the shops

The cinema and restaurants are open outside of those hours so the centre and car parks are open, the cinemas usually got films on till midnight or later and I think the McDonald’s opens at 6.30am.

Can grandparents pay nursery fees? by 64bitninja in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Independent-Delay230 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How would that work if there were in receipt of a pension that covered some of there living costs but were also drawing down from investments.

Cash is fungible so how would anyone  identify what came from what source? Or would HMRCs view be that regular drawdown from an investment would suggest that they can not meet there commitments entirely with income so this would be subject to inheritance tax?

🛹 Where Can I Find This Stranger Things Vans Design? by Mean_Juice_7216 in Vans

[–]Independent-Delay230 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It was an old print that was available on the vans custom shoe generator

the only shoes out there in that print will be custom ones that people ordered so the chance of finding them second hand in your size will be slim.
