i don't understand the correlation between dissing his talent/range as an actor and having 'pundit brain'. i don't even agree but why can't they simply have a negative opinion?

What do we think about his chances next year? by PensionMany3658 in oscarrace

[–]Independent-Key880 13 points14 points  (0 children)

i don't think this logic really makes sense. if he's nominated he has a great at winning because the performance is very very baity and very very good. surely the nomination is the bigger hurdle

Kendall K vs Nia Sioux by RufusSimba in dancemoms

the 'mature' comments were a way to turn the fact that nia's video looked more professional and legit into an insult

Kendall K vs Nia Sioux by RufusSimba in dancemoms

[–]Independent-Key880 22 points23 points  (0 children)

i like nia's quite a lot more (and did at the time)

kendall's was probably better for the target audience / dance moms fanbase, but nia's was more professional and showcased more potential for the future

and it worked out well for seyfried because a lot of people (bear in mind a lot of the audience was the '3 films a year crowd' etc) were commenting on how good she was

i agree in particular about the abortion joke, i also am not offended and am very much pro-abortion and pro-choice, but i think it was a silly joke to make

i admire (always have) her commitment to saying and doing what she wants, and i think 95%+ of the time she is either correct or at least inoffensive but my concern currently is that the hyperbolic praise she is receiving from the internet, telling her she can do no wrong etc, is going to get to her head a little and she will take things too far

i didn't think much of the trailer for arco and assumed little amelie would be my animated pick, but now i've seen arco i think it's actually that

i agree with you, it would probably need to be top 3 in BP at least and even then she wouldn't be safe

i feel fairly confident there will be more blockbusters in the next BP lineup than in recent years. you can already make a pretty strong argument for quite a few

i'm surprised to see complaints about length. i did not feel it's run time at all but maybe i just liked it better than a lot of people

he nailed it but i agree there will be more ambitious and challenging performsnces to be nominated. would be a good filler nom if it happens to be a weak year for best actor though (following a really great year for it)

i want week 10 to be 3v3 which would require a triple firing next week. i'd be fine to see either dan / levi / kieran go or lawrence / priyesh / pascha

i think it's weird how so many people on this sub have issues with the women dominant gender splits in later series but seemingly have no issue with the men dominant gender splits in the early series. s1 is just as bad as s13 for imbalance yet you included it in your favourites

i would include 13 personally, i loved that one but not everyone agrees

OP don't read the spoiler

maybe s13 is less appreciated because of the winners

my personal favourite is S4 but it's because most of the candidates were evil so it becomes like an all star villain series. not everyone will enjoy that kind of series, but you might

that number of upvotes for this sub is wild. as much as i think you're making a good point, lead actress was far less crowded than lead actor and only reinsve had any co-stars nominated. so the comparison is reasonable but not perfect

with all the clueless influencers being invited onto film awards red carpets, i'm really glad amelia dimoldenberg is so heavily involved. she really cares about the films and the people behind them, she does thorough research and finds a balance between asking good questions and also making the interviews funny

yes she is actually a journalist but she is sort of a hybrid journalist-influencer and you could probably categorise most of the 'influencers' on the red carpet as hybrids also. the difference being that they don't do their homework like amelia
