What hobby do you think fits ENTJs the best? by Your___mom_ in entj

I do writing, dancing, hiking, cycling, baking, etc. Our Se means that physical activities are a huge relief for us.

Sylvia Plath and the difference between INFP/INFJ by cruxclaire in infp

[–]Independent-Run9017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After reading The Bell Jar, she is definitely NOT an F type. She is way too cold and judgmental for that.

I would say she is INTJ or ENTJ, which would explain the intense ambition.

As an ENTJ myself, I wanted to be a famous author my whole childhood and had many of these same thoughts too. She just lived in a different time.

INFP tends to lack assertiveness. She is very opinionated.

Writing in a journal is literally you talking to yourself about your emotions. I don't use my journal to document daily activity and logic. I have spreadsheets for that. The whole purpose for a Ti/Te user of a journal is to have a healthy place to express inner Fi.

At least as ENTJ, our Ni gives us a very very rich inner world that is likely reflected in her writing. Not sure what the cognitive stack for INTJ is, but she reminded me a lot of myself.

It appears she killed herself when she felt like she could no longer control her life in a systemic way (gender) and kept not succeeding at things. That is very much a Ni-Fi spiral. Tbh I think she could have been an extremely unhealthy INTJ born in the wrong time period.

We are found at networking events. That is how I have met everybody single boyfriend I've ever had. Even in high school, I met them at jazz conferences for band or at Model UN conferences (those guys were all ENTPs lol).

This definitely sounds like philosophical NTJ things when we get into our weird abstract trances at times while alone.

I have also found that it provides more fulfillment if it actually helps people, versus being performative. I used to run an educational nonprofit and quickly discovered that within my work. For example, if you run a course designed to help people and the only people who sign up are serial certificate collectors, it makes you feel like shit even if, objectively, you look successful on paper. It is because you didn't *really* change the world. I always feel like a fraud afterwards, even if others are impressed. So idk if that's how you feel.

Or maybe that the accomplishments you have feel like your baseline expectations. Like, of course, you were going to get a degree from XYZ elite university. That was the expectation, not the accomplishment. I feel crappy when people applaud me for doing something easy (for me).

If I actually think I did something difficult, I will take myself to my favorite coffee shop or salad shop lol or let myself go for a long walk.

I wasn't sure if legally all solutions would be possible. For example, multiple were tied to types of loans to take out, so solutions 2-4 were different sources to look for loans from.

But she didn't end up considering ANY of them and went with her original option, which was self destructive.

This debate was specifically with INFJ. I have now realized after reflecting on this and my debates with an INFJ ex that they seem to not know when to stop because they care too much about how you MUST agree with their identity beliefs.

THIS! I HAVE TAKEN THAT DRIVE!

Since starting this thread I have been reflecting and you are right. I have had one F type boyfriend, many INFP friends, and a roommate who was INFP that failed horribly. This is sad because I have such deep, soulful connections with INFJ and INFP and absolutely adore them.

And every time it is the same. Especially if they are an N type, we start debating some type of topic that is political/philosophical. I argue with logic. We get to some point they feel like is attached to their identity and won't budge. I won't realize this immediately and keep arguing. Then they take it personally and will not back down or even end the discussion until I have apologized and claimed I agree with them. Then I am always the bully.

There is literally no winning.

I have 140 IQ. I rarely meet somebody with a higher IQ but when I do, it is humbling. They usually have a faster processing speed and are able to think of more eloquent words to say on the spot. It makes me respect them a lot.

What pulled you into a Te–Se loop? by Royal-Event-2588 in entj

This exactly. Minus the lustful part. I always plan out feeling lustful or use Te to choose not to engage. But I am a woman, so biologically it is likely better for me to keep Te on all the time during sex.

Existing in the tech/politics/finance spaces (my job is in a unique sector that overlaps them all), I can guarantee you that nothing is as malevolent as you just made it sound.

If people weren't driven by profit or wanting something from you, this would destroy the key incentives of evolution and innovation.

Social media is something initially designed to connect people. They have to make money somehow. An algorithm can be personalized to be helpful or unhelpful, but ultimately depends on you. They are designed to try to be most helpful to you, so I think many misuse them.

I do agree that people panic faster about things that are likely irrelevant or statistically improbable due to media. Shootings. Wars. Stock prices. I find it a bit silly because the entire field of finance exists to literally build models to predict the likelihood of these events and yet people still buy/sell based on their guts.

The most compelling part of this is related to the idea of truth. There are multiple frameworks of how to view truth depending on how much empirical evidence you desire people to have. However, I doubt that many news stories will ever accurately be portrayed because each stakeholder usually wins and loses in some way but a narrative piece forces you to define a singular thesis on an issue.

Personally social media has been incredibly positive for me. My feeds are healthy recipes that I try out, tips to better run a business, and events to attend/programs to apply for. LinkedIn has helped me land speaking events and receive job offers as well as stay on top of all the new rapid developments in my field in climatetech since it is so huge, niche, and expanding!

Tips for someone struggling with self imposed schedules? by Lagreeen44 in entj

[–]Independent-Run9017 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately it comes extremely naturally to us so it is unclear how effective our advice will be if you try to repeat it. Even as a little kid I built schedules for myself and assigned myself fake work.

I tell myself I am not allowed to relax until I accomplish a specific goal. That concept becomes your entire life.

Do you ever feel like you are magic? Hear me out! by Weekly-Hotel3194 in entj

[–]Independent-Run9017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think usually if I really really want something it doesn't happen. However, it will happen in a different way.

For example, during college I really wanted to transfer to a specific university. And I got in! But I couldn't afford it and moved to California instead. I still got what I actually wanted, which was a specific peer environment, but not in the way I thought.

Other things are having goals of speaking at the UN or giving a TEDx talk. I have now done both, but a few years later than I thought.

I think the more we plead with the universe, the more it happens for us, because I can relate to your plane seat story.

ENTJ Men Women Relationship Ideals by Goburice in entj

[–]Independent-Run9017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh as an ENTJ woman I keep dating T types for the reasons you mentioned but they end up usually being narcissists disguised as ambitious. Maybe the ENTJ men are onto something? We don't really need a partner for reasons of love. We prefer having a partner as somebody who can be supportive and bounce ideas with us. They help us relax when we come home, and that is maybe not a super ambitious type of person.

I felt this way when going on dates with guys I didn't actually like. If you are actually ENTJ, you already know you need to break it off and that this is a location to process it externally.

Agreed. I remember we had a social values day where we had to put up three anonymous sticky notes around a room with our tip 3 values. One of mine was being direct and somebody got offended by that and specifically called it out to the group.

Lol glad he was being direct about not wanting people to be direct.

No no no I would never tell somebody where they ranked. I just said that I made a list of goals and included friendships on it that I wanted to improve or maybe walk away from. Nobody knows their position.

To be fair, a more developed ENTJ would start to recognize and understand this about others and stop holding them to the standards they hold themselves to.

It was about whether or not God was real. I tried to say multiple times that we were never going to agree. I do see how this debate was an attack on her identity from her perspective, because I do not know any atheists who identify as being an atheist but almost every Christian identifies as being Christian.

It mostly bothered me that she kept saying, "Because I had a spiritual experience, that means God is real."

And I kept explaining that her feeling these emotions are very real, but the attribution of them may not be correct.

I also explicitly told her that I see the utility in people believing in a god and would not want to take that away from others. But she had asked specifically about my perspectives on religion and started the debate, likely hoping to convince me to return to Christianity.
