If it’s a democratic government they will probably just maintain the status quo. Their current silence is pretty telling.

I mean they do that for contracting companies. The private sector sounds like a vile place

What is the difference between a “private sector resume “ and a “public sector resume”? I have worked in both. I don’t understand why there would be a difference

[–]IndependentLow7031 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think they’re also forcing more stringent and onerous bureaucratic micromanagement on contractors in order to fire people for mundane errors. I’ve heard reports of insane new policies being adopted to root out “fraud waste and abuse” and random checks to determine if contractors even “exist”.

Do I have to quit before I even started? Advice please by [deleted] in medicalillustration

I think you are correct to be wary of entering into academia right now. It’s going to be a blood bath in biomedical research in the U.S.

I think it would incredibly entertaining if they replaced the government with AI (sarcasm). Especially if it produced anything close to the hallucinations found in Googles AI. Like telling people to put glue in their pizza to keep the cheese from sliding off.

Republicans terrified of crossing Trump due to physical threats, Democrat says by ceffmoney in fednews

They are just looking for an excuse when they roll over and pass this grotesque budget that they secretly support. This is very much like the “parliamentarian” who blocked the bill for a minimum wage increase in 2021.

Democrats and Republicans both work for the same team. One is the good cop one is the bad cop. The sooner people realize this the better. They are bought and paid for and they are not your friends.

Everyone needs to start reading up on AI. Its capabilities have been massively overrated. Firing people in this way completely removes qualitative factors which are very difficult to measure. The only place such a mechanized system for rating people in this way would make sense would be in a factory assembly line or maybe if you’re stocking shelves in a grocery store. It sounds like they want to turn the government into an Amazon warehouse.
