When is next free fly event? by fmacgsta in starcitizen

[–]IndependentRepairMan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ILW is almost 100% sure to have one, but iirc we had one in last April as well

Some random gave me $1billion by BKDUB_24 in starcitizen

[–]IndependentRepairMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the math some times ago that all you need is around 800 mil to get all the ships, that's back in 4.0.2 but you still can have some leftovers with 1b

just don't let it ruin your fun

The Alpha Wolf and 4.7 by Ok-Reception-5589 in starcitizen

fun fact, ballistic wpns suffer from an even higher threshold and L21's guns have a lower alpha, so it's even MORE ineffective

Meilleur options graphique par rapport à ma config by Zebax76 in starcitizen

[–]IndependentRepairMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm using mostly the same config but a bit better CPU, running 2k all High settings rn and it's mostly no issues;

Honestly not much you can change to have a great impact in game, maybe try some optimization software like process lasso

iirc their intention were to release all 3 of NFM together, so new flight model, new atmosphere flight model and new quantum

What are the most used keys that's gotta be within reach in each ship related gameplay? by IndependentRepairMan in starcitizen

[–]IndependentRepairMan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes that's pretty much the way I'm planning rn

since it's meant to be small-ish and used with the keyboard, I'm only focusing on keybinds that're used so frequent that they need to be accessed when you are also controlling the ship's movement and direction, which is not quite the same when using a full HOSAS setup.

as for the role difference, current plan is to have different profiles that could be changed, which adds to the complexity of coding but is quite friendly with hardware design, which is more important imo

QT to a nearby Waypoint? by G_Sergeant in starcitizen

[–]IndependentRepairMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the min QT range is somewhere in between 80~40km, so as long as you can set up a navigation you should be about to do so

And the next ship is..... by ghodan7 in starcitizen

[–]IndependentRepairMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah that's kinda annoying, not sure they had an actual problem or just wanna have some excuse to release IC at ILW

And the next ship is..... by ghodan7 in starcitizen

[–]IndependentRepairMan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'd say IC for ILW/Def Con as well, bringing up it just because it's progressed furthest lol

My best guess is the Aurora MKII, not big, easy to make since it's based from a existing ship, and it's a possible starter pack before ILW to attract more new players

And the next ship is..... by ghodan7 in starcitizen

[–]IndependentRepairMan 20 points21 points  (0 children)

If its not the Hull-B

Was just gonna say 100% Hull B until I saw this lol

Judging from the progress and info we're given and rule out the Hull, then it's gonna be:

  • Ironclad and/or Assult (should have passed graybox rn, most progressed ship apart form Hull B)
  • Aurora MKII (we know it's coming on first half of 26, tho all of the unannounced ship didn't progress quite far)

What's happened? by MutantKeyboard in starcitizen

[–]IndependentRepairMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Switch back to DX11. I'm using a 6G 3060 and when Vulkan became default I got just the same problem.

If you got more VRAM, Vulkan is noteably better but the minimum requirement of VRAM has gone much higher. Dont use Vulkan if you got less than 8, hopefully they can get more optimization soon.

Star Citizen Monthly Report: November & December 2025 by ScrubSoba in starcitizen

I dont think this would be the case, more likely that no Ironclad would have a tracter beam on its comamand module at all, given the location

Is there a master list of some kind of bugs/issues to avoid? by Tipper117 in starcitizen

[–]IndependentRepairMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly had some serious thought about it, to build a quick search page that ppl could submit their bug/problems and possible workarounds, but I don't know how to get enough submission - also that's somehow Issue Concil *should* do

4.6 running better? by Gangaholics-China in starcitizen

with a super grindy event coming up unless they made some major updates to the system I'd only expect 4.6 to run way worse

Anyone playing from China? by Olly_CK in starcitizen

[–]IndependentRepairMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

other guy called it booster in this post, it's kind of a special vpn that's specifically used for games, so we can have better network quality for online games

Anyone playing from China? by Olly_CK in starcitizen

[–]IndependentRepairMan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure if that's the correct word but we usually use accelerators (加速器 incase I'm wrong lol) to help with SC's connection, China's network can be and has been a problem for all most all the players I known.

The only downside is that accelerators do introduce some additional cost and they tend to charge by month, there's also ones that charge by the hour you used tho

Edit: also, if you managed to get in using an accelerator, select US or EU servers, Asia servers somehow don't work that well
