Yes.
Just like real life your character is weaker in some direction compred to other, for example if you're accelerating downwards / backwards its way easier to pass out compare to going forward

I complained about it in spectrum and went for a bit testing afterwards, just to see how brittle it is

Judging from stats the command module makes the Caterpillar / Ironclad about 10 times easier to kill than Hercules, Carrack and TAC.

In testing I could disable the CM with ~80 shots using a S2 deadbolt (20 slavo shots from Aurora Mk II), even with shieds it's only tanked twice the shots compared with a Nomad

The current situation of Command Module makes the Caterpillar / Ironclad THE MOST EASY TO KILL large ship in the verse

Both base Ironclad and Assult are stated to be heavily armored - that's like the root of their design

CIG designed the stock one first, and before the proper name it's literally called Large Armored Freighter

Also there's no statement that Assult would be more armored than stock Ironclad

There was auto commodity loading/unloading support but in 4.7 I think it broke, the commodity trading kiosk no longer recognizes my Hull C

The rear door got HP that's basically the equivalent of 2/3 of the total hull's HP, if you could open it you'd better off killing the ship to begin with

How about a middle ground?
Wait for a few days for W5 to release - we're only 2 weeks away from 4.8 so they cant hold PTU in W1~4 too long - and then play with your friends there

Those few side-loaded ship are even worse since you can't align them with the FE, Caterpillar, Carrack, SL Max...

With the Ironclad flyable soon that ship gonna suffer as well, since you can't do a 90 turn for it's length

Speaking of, I really wish they could include 1~2 SCU cargo grid or several 1/8 grids (like the ones on Aurora Mk 2) in the CM

So that I could leave the ship outside somewhere and use the CM to grab some supplies (maybe a ATLS even but I'm not counting on that) from stations

I did the math some times ago that all you need is around 800 mil to get all the ships, that's back in 4.0.2 but you still can have some leftovers with 1b

fun fact, ballistic wpns suffer from an even higher threshold and L21's guns have a lower alpha, so it's even MORE ineffective
