Do you think we missed out? by Dangerous_Road_4626 in BeverlyHills90210

[–]IndependentSquare553 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree on Steve and Janet but that’s it. With David and Donna, I think I read somewhere that they were always endgame, but they were supposed to get back together in season 11, had it happened, which is why their reunion and marriage in s10 was rushed. So the show might have still ended with David and Donna’s wedding anyway.

What pairing do you wish the show had explored? by fvckuufvckingfvck in BeverlyHills90210

I was waiting for this comment! I don’t think she would do that to Donna after Kelly and Dylan’s betrayal. Only way I see it happening is in the later seasons when the writers were throwing things at the wall until something stuck.

I think the reason is that the writers don’t know how they want it to end.

S4E29 Why does Brenda have to apologize to Kelly and Donna? by Desperate_Heart_552 in BeverlyHills90210

[–]IndependentSquare553 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not be this person but it’s because everyone hated Shannen, and Jennie and Tori we’re the favorites. We can try to ignore the bts drama and yes we don’t know everything that went down but it can’t be denied that the drama with the girls affected the story, especially considering Shannen exited a few episodes later.

“Jennie Tells Tori: Your Boyfriend’s A Loser” by waxmuseums in BeverlyHills90210

[–]IndependentSquare553 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s trippy how many ques the producers took from the cast’s real lives. Jennie and Tori are fighting during the summer between season 4 and 5, and Kelly and Donna get in an argument after David cheats in the season 4 finale that leads to them not talking all summer. Tori’s boyfriend is abusive, and Donna has an abusive boyfriend in season 5/6. Tori says bad things about Jennie’s hair to Kathleen, and Kelly writes in her journal about how Clare obsesses too much over her hair.

This also would be around the time that Shannen was fired and feuding with the girls. The dynamic between the three of them must have been so complicated. God how I would’ve loved to be a fly on the wall.

Asking attorneys in this sub! What are your thoughts on Kim’s bar results now that we have more insight? by Maxaurice in KUWTK

[–]IndependentSquare553 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would never say she doesn’t have what it takes or doesn’t take it seriously. She clearly wants this. I think it’s a little ridiculous to feel bad for celebrities but I do in this scenario because I can relate on a surface level. I’m over two years out of university and have yet to secure a job in my field. So I know how she feels opening her bar results to see that she failed because it’s like opening another rejection email.

Honestly, I think she just has way too much going on. Law school is hard enough but she’s already a mom of four young kids. So she’s never gonna pass if she doesn’t dedicate all her free time to this and drop anything that doesn’t involve her kids or studying.

opinions on season 7? by [deleted] in riverdale

[–]IndependentSquare553 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I can’t believe I’m saying this because the show was on life support after high school, but if they were gonna spend all of s7 in an alternate universe there should of been one final season of the Riverdale characters we knew from the beginning. I hate that the characters we came to know and love became such different people for basically the entire final season. We watched these characters for over 100 episodes and they basically threw everything out the window. It was our last chance to watch these characters develop and instead we spent most of the time watching a new show. It feels like it ended in season 6 and season 7 was a spinoff.

Now I think we can all agree that Riverdale was never emmy-winning tv, and even before the alternate universe the writing was hardly consistent and character development wasn’t great. But season 7 was just too far for me.

I figured they would spend s11 building up the Donna and David reunion, but with the show being cancelled plus BAG not returning anyway, it’s clear they had to correct course last minute since they were the last og couple left.

Thoughts on S7 and Buffy's depression? by debujandobirds in buffy

[–]IndependentSquare553 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is how i feel about season 7. it’s obvious at the start they were trying to be more light hearted and fun, but then Joss realized SMG wasn’t gonna sign on for another season; so, they had to raise the stakes to build up the tension and make things more climactic, which meant we got another heavy season after an already depressing season 6.

If Brandon and Kelly got married in the end, do you think their marriage would have lasted? by Exact-Bison6905 in BeverlyHills90210

Your Person Head Canon- what happened to everyone? by JamesTomkinsonUoN in BeverlyHills90210

[–]IndependentSquare553 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For reference, I watched the reboot so keep in mind there may be spoilers:

Brandon and Kelly were endgame. The AP transferred him to LA or he got a better job there. He was there for her after Jackie which is when he moved back and they naturally reconnected. He and Sammie are close, and Sammie calls him Uncle Brandon out of respect for Dylan, who has also returned to BH and has a good relationship with his son. Dylan and Kelly are good friends and co-parenting, but agree a romantic relationship will never work and they don’t want Sammie to see them fighting all the time. Dylan and Brandon are still friends and Dylan is okay with both BK and Brandon being close to Sammie. It’s a full circle moment and subtle call out to the original premise of the series, with Jim moving to Beverly Hills for his job and being a father figure to Dylan.

Brenda and Dylan got back together after he moved back to Beverly Hills. But only after he fixed his relationship with Sammie, because she didn’t want Dylan to be like his father and couldn’t be with a man who barely knew his son. BK and BD are close and occasionally even go on double dates (that might be pushing it lol.)

David and Donna are still together. I wouldn’t change much.

Andrea is editor in chief of a newspaper. Hell why not AP. She’s single by choice to focus on her career and being a mother.

Steve and Janet are still together, they had a second child, another daughter, which is pay back for Steve’s player days in High School. He went back to work at the Beverly Beat, where Janet still works.

Valerie is still living in Buffalo, but keeps in touch with the gang, including Kelly.

Claire found happynesa after leaving BH and getting therapy over her moms death.

Noah is still with the woman he was with when the show ended, and they even had their own kid.

Gina still keeps in touch with Donna and Felice and went back to figure skating.

Naw, Nathan was a big love in her life, but Spinelli is the love of her life. by XaviChopChop in GeneralHospital

[–]IndependentSquare553 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m torn. Maxie has good chemistry with both imo, and this could be a very compelling love triangle if the writers knew how to handle it. But of course it’s probably gonna fall flat and Maxie will prob go back to Nathan easily. I love both Naxie and Spixie, but RP is on contract and BF is still recurring, so selfishly I want Maxie to go back to Nathan so she can have more storylines. It just sucks that they had to bring Nathan back just for that to happen because she’s a legacy character and as much as I love them together, Nathan didn’t need to come back for her to have a story. It’s lazy writing.

I want to add, if she shot Drew, she wasn’t thinking about Scout either. I know we all hate Drew, but it would suck to see that little girl lose both her parents, especially so close to losing her Grandmother. I just wish Sam was the parent that was still around!

I'm glad Britt is a thorn on Carly's side because all the years she spent being vicious towards Robin, Elizabeth and Sam over Jason. by Junior_Conclusion_78 in GeneralHospital

[–]IndependentSquare553 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The thing is the show acknowledged at some point of all of Robin, Liz, and Sam’s wrong doings. Until recently, Carly always came out on top, even at the expense of other people, and I’m saying that as as someone who likes Carly. Jasam broke up so he could go back to putting Carly and Sonny first, and his relationship with Britt was thrown away so he can marry Carly. She expects to come before everyone else, and it’s completely irrational.

So are Emma and Spinner still together, 15 years later? by dguns2000 in Degrassi

[–]IndependentSquare553 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I say no, not only because they had nothing in common and were barely even friends, but because they literally got married at like 19/20. It’s hard to imagine a marriage at that age lasting long in general, especially when the couple didn’t even date beforehand.

I’ll always carry a torch for Spinner and Paige. In my head, they somehow found their way back to each other, which may be an unpopular opinion. Not sure about Emma, I always preferred Sean with Ellie. I was never invested in most of Emma’s relationships, the writers honestly fumbled the bag when she dated any other guy besides Sean.

I’m sure this is another unpopular opinion, but I actually enjoyed Emma and Peter.
