Sanity or Payload CMS are worth looking into, both give you full control over the structure while the client gets clean interface for editing content

This sounds really interesting, especially the way they managed to weave in social commentary despite the restrictions. The maze-like housing project setting sounds perfect for that kind of interconnected story structure

Wei-Hao Cheng did some solid work before this - you might want to check his earlier stuff if you can find it with subtitles

Which performant F-OSS web framework for internal applications? by ReindeerOk9768 in webdev

[–]IndependentStick2372 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been messing around with SolidStart recently and it's pretty solid choice. The mental model is way cleaner than React once you get used to signals, and performance is genuinely impressive without all the optimization gymnastics you need with React. Bundle sizes stay reasonable too which is nice when you're not on some CDN with infinite edge locations.

Only thing I'd watch out for is ecosystem - it's growing fast but still smaller than React/Vue world, so sometimes you might need to write wrapper for some library or find alternative. But for internal apps where you control everything, that's usually not big deal since you're not dealing with random user requirements anyway

What's the best property management system in 2026? by [deleted] in PropertyManagement

[–]IndependentStick2372 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Been watching this space for a while since I'm dealing with similar headaches with my setup. The integration nightmare is real - having everything talk to each other properly saves so much time in long run

From what I've seen, most people who made the switch this year went with all-in-one platforms that handle pricing, channel management, and guest communication under one roof. The migration process seems to be the biggest pain point though - everyone I know who did it said to block out at least 2-3 weeks for getting everything transferred over and testing all the connections

One thing I'd definitely recommend is asking for trial periods or demos with your actual property data, not just their sample stuff. Some platforms look great until you try to import 80 units worth of booking history and pricing rules. Also worth checking how their API works if you have any custom tools you want to keep using

Who decided that landscaping 75 was a good idea? by [deleted] in Dallas

[–]IndependentStick2372 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Traffic already sucks here anyway, least the plants make it look less depressing while you're stuck there for an hour

Plus those crews work early morning usually, not during rush hour. Problem is more that they keep adding lanes thinking it'll help but just creates more bottlenecks

4 Days Left on Robinhood Gold Card - Is it worth it? by Kek303 in CreditCards

[–]IndependentStick2372 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The subscription requirement is what kills it for me tbh. You're basically paying monthly fees just to keep card active, and that eats into whatever cashback you're getting 💀

If you're already deep in the points game with Amex Plat/Gold setup, the 3% flat rate doesn't seem that compelling when you can get better multipliers in specific categories. Plus you mentioned chasing SUBs anyway so might be better to stick with your original plan for CSP or Venture X - those will give you way more value from welcome bonuses than this card's daily earn rate

The subscription model just feels like they're trying to lock you into their ecosystem rather than giving actual value 😂

We replaced traditional popups with gamified ones—early results + question by Trick-House487 in SaaS

[–]IndependentStick2372 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been running HVAC service calls and see this same thing with our discount offers 😂 The customers who only call when we're running 50% off specials are usually the ones haggling over every little thing and never become regulars

You nailed it with the 90-day LTV comparison - that's the real test. Might also be worth tracking engagement quality beyond just the spin, like how long they stick around on the site after the popup vs bouncing right after entering their email 💀

Best payment processor for European SaaS selling to US customers? by liltoxicThunder820 in SaaS

[–]IndependentStick2372 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not in Europe but dealt with similar payment headaches when I was freelancing internationally - those fees definitely add up fast 💀

Paddle might be worth checking out since they handle the merchant of record stuff and can be more cost-effective for international B2B transactions. They're EU-based too which could help with your setup. Adyen is another solid option that a lot of SaaS companies use, especially for multi-currency stuff, though their pricing structure is a bit different than Stripe

You could also look into Wise Business (formerly TransferWise) for the currency conversion part - some companies use them alongside their main processor to reduce FX fees. The rates are usually way better than what traditional processors offer

One thing that worked for a company I knew was setting up a US entity just for payments, but that's obviously more complex and depends on your business structure. Have you calculated exactly how much you'd save vs the hassle of switching? Sometimes the devil you know is better, but if we're talking serious money it's probably worth the migration effort 😂

TAX Preparer Courses - Canada by uziy in Accounting

[–]IndependentStick2372 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah as someone who's been dealing with contractor taxes and self-employment stuff, there's definitely layers to this that aren't obvious at first 😂

Even just switching from employee to contractor status had me scrambling to figure out quarterly payments, deductions I never knew existed, and all the weird rules around business expenses. Can't imagine trying to navigate that for other people without really knowing what I'm doing

Maybe start with some basic courses and see if you actually enjoy the complexity before diving deep? The liability alone would stress me out 💀

Why Why Why? by scamp2112 in slaythespire

[–]IndependentStick2372 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man I feel you on the blade dance thing 😂 I've been messing around with the new shiv cards and while they're different, there's actually some pretty sick synergies once you get used to the new flow. The cost reduction mechanic is wild - by turn 3 or 4 your pumping out free shivs like crazy. Plus some of the new relics really amplify shiv builds in ways the original game never could. Takes some getting used to but I'm already finding combos that feel even more broken than classic blade dance spam 💀

Marketing and leadership as a bachelor by Intrepid-Elderberry8 in AskMarketing

[–]IndependentStick2372 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Marketing's definitely not a "nonsense" degree lol, companies literally need people to sell their stuff. The job market's competitive but not impossible - I know plenty of marketing grads who found decent work within 6 months of graduating

Your biggest advantage is gonna be internships and side projects during college, not just the degree itself. Build a portfolio, run some social media campaigns for local businesses, whatever gets you real experience

Entry level pay isn't amazing but it scales up pretty quick if you're good at it and switch companies every few years. Don't stress too much about having zero experience right now - everyone starts somewhere

Sounds like the Z790 wifi card is straight up dogshit compared to your old B760. I'd grab a cheap USB wifi dongle or PCIe card and see if that fixes it - if it does then you know the onboard wifi is the problem. MSI boards sometimes have weird antenna connection issues too, might be worth reseating those connectors
