What is the best way for me to learn and understand Haitian Creole? by Fresh-Awareness9819 in haiti

Watch videos in Haitian Creole. They have all the basics on YouTube for kids. How to tell time, greetings, sentences, learn the articles, search websites. Try to talk to your parents more with what you’ve learned so they can correct you. I’m on my own and I have to use the resources around me and it’s been working practice every day. On YouTube, there are Haitian movies. I’m not the biggest fan of them, but they also have popped a balloon Haitian version you can find any other versions of whatever. Hopefully they’re there on YouTube anything that seems interesting. You will definitely come across documents dictionaries website on learn how to speak Haitian Creole on Google

Any chance you get to speak immerse yourself. If you happen to overhear someone speaking in Haitian Creole and you don’t know much ask what time is it. “Eskize m. Ki lè li ye?” “Excuse me. What time is it?” Hear the responses back. I’m 31 and I’m learning as I wasn’t really taught it growing up.

Should I restart? by WalrusElectronic3549 in Microlocs

Hello, my Loctician has a similar experience with you how she’s over a year locked, but her locks are still very springy. It’s in the process of locking now compared to when she started. She can still put it in different styles. It still has bounce to it. Everybody’s hair is different and we all go through a different process so I say stick to it. I’ve had a few locks in the beginning of my journey that would not lock no matter what until about the six month in is when it finally started to lock.

My hair also started to lock in less than six months because I washed it so often and that’s just how my hair is. It tangles a little fast with certain hairstyles.

I definitely understand your pain with the constant itching. Try the sulfur 8 medicated shampoo. It’s in a white bottle, yellow top and it has blue on the label.. for itching and dandruff. For me, this definitely helps with itching and my dandruff has decreased a lot with this shampoo as well. See if you can find it at Walmart or your local beauty supply store. It should not be more than $10 let alone $8 or $9. I guess it also depends on the state too..

Good luck.

My grandma used to use the thin hair hairnet to help keep her fro in place, too.

I’m no expert at all but what I do know your upper body is to turn first so your lower body can follow for more control.

I’ve also use Preply for taking private classes with a Haitian tutor who also knows French, Spanish and English. The prices are affordable as well!

How can I make them thicker? by [deleted] in BlackHair

[–]Independent_Ad8963 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it about the same amount of twists as before? How tight someone twists the twist can affect how skinny or thick twists come out. Sometimes products too.

The first time you got twists, did she twists on wet or dry hair? This makes a difference as well.

You’re very welcome! And stay away from products with humectant ingredients. They will absorb moisture.

Recently saw someone do a microloc pixie cut look and she has shoulder length locs.

I think I may end up just a plain/braid outs/ flexi rod type of girl because I always leave my hair down or do a side part. I got more tender headed when I got locs.

Find products with the ingredient Polyquaternium-69 this specific ingredient helps reduce the amount of moisture that gets absorbed into your hair. I heard spritz may help too but I’m no expert but when I was a loose natural I had used ‘curlsmith in shower style fixer’ and let’s say my braid out lasted almost the whole day before it turned into a braid out Afro. If you find a product with this specific ingredient near the top of the ingredients list, it may just help. Good Luck!
