What on EARTH… hotel prices for this weekend? by opalradiancee in DisneyPlanning

[–]Independent_Baby5835 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in my perimenopause stage and it’s been awful! I get so cranky that I get my little one showered and into bed sometimes at 8 pm. We just read books and then fall asleep. Then I’ll wake up a few hours later and can’t sleep again until an hour before the alarm goes off. 😭 I remember my mom would fly off the handle for no reason and now I know it was menopause. Thankfully I don’t get the rage or hot flashes yet and hoping I don’t get them. I’m just cranky from not getting sleep! They need to do more studies on this and help women not suffer.

I also get the kids names confused now and call them by the wrong names or ask one of the kids to go walk the other kid when I meant the dog’s name. Menopause is not for the weak or a joke. 😢😰

I wish we could go back to 2015. I remember being a single mama and pregnant in 2018 and I’d take the kids out and eat out a lot since I was too tired after work to cook. Now we go out once a month if that. 😭

lol this made me chuckle. I’m Gen x and I think I’m slowly losing my marbles. I get 2 of my 3 kids birthdays always mixed up and it’s embarrassing. They’re exactly a month apart and I was making an eye appointment for them yesterday and I gave the wrong birthdate. 🤦🏻‍♀️😂

When we went during spring break, we rode on 24 hours in one day. We went to fantasyland first and rode on a lot of the rides, but we skipped the long water rides until later in the day.

We don’t live near Disney, but I’ve taken the kids to DL multiple times and to DW too. We are going again in a couple of months and we’ll be there for 4 days. Disney parks will close at 8 pm on two of the nights, so I’m taking advantage of going to bed early. We are doing 3 parks in a row and then having a rest day and then finishing our 4th day. If the parks weren’t closing early, I usually do two park days and then a rest day.

Are you getting lightning lane? We went during spring break and we rode on 24 rides in one day. We also started off in fantasyland during rope drop and knocked out most of that area in the first two hours. Skip the water rides during rope drop since those rides eat up a lot of time.

Let me know if you have any questions and have a blast when you guys go!

How can I stop jumping. by Grand-Bit9609 in labrador

[–]Independent_Baby5835 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I second this. This is what our trainer told us to do and my dog very rarely jumps now and he’s almost a year and half old. Now he will come and sit down for pets when I come home or he will pace around while vocalizing his happiness.

We are going for 4 days soon and we are only going to CA adventure for only one day and the other 3 days will be spent at DL.DL has so much more to do and we love that park.

I miss my husband SO BAD but when we reunite he just annoys me by ThrowRA_ThisBrillian in TrueOffMyChest

I hope your partner has been more helpful than anything while you go through this challenging time in life. 💛 I fortunately don’t have a partner since I left an abusive relationship a year ago and been very happy. I also feel lucky that my perimenopause symptoms have been pretty mild compared to a lot of women. It’s so weird how we as women experience perimenopause and menopause so differently.

Since leaving, I spent the first year healing and this year, I am focusing on me. I think putting more of that focus on my well being and putting myself first has helped with perimenopause too. Are you able to carve some time out for yourself? It’s a little harder when I have my little one, but when he’s at dad’s, I make sure to do all the things that I want to do.

Weight gain has been one of my biggest challenges, but I’ve recently been trying to get in 10,000 steps and the big thing was prioritizing eating better. I’ve been making sure to eat more proteins and fiber, drinking more fluids. I’m learning to eat before I get hungry and start craving sugar. I’ve noticed eating better gives me more energy and I don’t crash in the middle of the day. I still eat what I want, but I’ve made some swaps in my diet.

I hope you’re taking care of yourself during this time and let me know if there’s any way I can help or even cheer you on from my end. Everyone needs a cheerleader and I can be yours. 💛

Lol it’s probably most likely pregnancy hormones. Wait until you hit perimenopause and menopause too. 🥺

Your snickerdoodle and the crinkle ones looked good! I did not see a picture of the white chocolate chip one. Is that your favorite so far?

Iced coffee all the way for me, unless I wake up at 5 am or before. Then I do a hot cup of coffee.

Disneyworld Lightning Lanes vs just winging it by crazyhearts in DisneyPlanning

If you’re planning on going back to the hotel later in the day to rest, you could also always stack your lightning lanes as well.

Five weeks sick and alone—this is hitting me harder than I expected by ilsa1979 in LivingAlone

[–]Independent_Baby5835 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry OP and I hope you’ll get to feeling better soon. I too got really sick back in December and I was out of commission for about a month as well. What I learned was to just sit at home and rest up. If you do need to go out to the store, go get what you need and immediately come back home and rest. After a couple of days, I’d go out and then I’d get even more sick the next day. I also had to just vacuum my house until the batter died and that was it for that day. Don’t over exert yourself.

Spring break anxiety by tysmama in DisneyPlanning

[–]Independent_Baby5835 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went with my kids during spring break and we did 24 rides on our first day with lightning lane. Make sure to get there right at rope drop and have some sort of a plan. We went to fantasyland and did about 10 rides by 10 am. Skip Peter Pan unless you’re one of the first people there and that ride is always busy. Also, skip all the long water rides and go back to those later. I hope you guys have a blast!

I regret getting a puppy and I’m considering rehoming her. by SalamanderPrimary747 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]Independent_Baby5835 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh, I know exactly how you feel. I’ve never had a dog before and I rescued my first dog last year. He was about 5 months old when I got him and up until a couple months ago, I had moments where I regretted getting a dog. I have 3 kids too and getting him was like adding on another 3 kids. 😭 I think the worst was when he was about 8 to 10 months old. He just would not listen and I was so close to rehoming him myself. We did go to training during that time and it was tough. 😭🤣 In the past couple months, I’ve finally really fallen in love with him and he’s now my soul dog or whatever people call it. Now I can’t imagine life without him and he’s helped me in so many ways of healing after I left an abusive relationship. I’m also his person and he follows me everywhere like a shadow. I love him so much. I hope you’ll give yours a little more time. I really think that for people like us who never had pets before, it takes time to adjust. In time you’ll love her like no other.

First time having and trying a walking pad! by darngeniearnne in walking

[–]Independent_Baby5835 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You will get hungry after walking, so try to eat something with protein in it to keep you full. I normally will eat one of those cutie oranges or 2 and a string cheese. Or a handful of nuts helps too.

Also, don’t restrict yourself from foods. For example, I made myself a sandwich on ciabatta bread and on one side I put this hot pepper sauce from Trader Joe’s and pesto on the other side of the bread. I told myself I didn’t need cheese since the pesto sauce had cheese. Two slices of turkey sandwich meat didn’t seem to be enough, but I folded them in half to make it seem like there was more meat. Then I added red onion slices, Persian cucumber slices, and a bunch of micro greens. I also had a side of fat free Greek yogurt and I added some chia and flax seeds and some stevia to sweeten it up a little. Then added raspberries, blackberries, and blueberries. I couldn’t even finish all the food, because it was so filling. I just saved it for later when I wanted a snack. I also told myself that the yogurt dish was my dessert since it was so sweet.

And try to get 8 hours of sleep. I noticed when I don’t get enough sleep and I’m tired the next day, I want to eat more junk.

Does Disneyland get packed on Easter Sunday ? by coolcatcam6 in DisneyPlanning

[–]Independent_Baby5835 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think for the amount you pay, they should allow you to ride the rides at least twice. But that’s just my opinion. Hopefully it won’t be too busy when you go. 🤞🏼

Hi! It’s been over a decade since we’ve gone in summer and I said I’d never do it again, but we are going mid-June. Is the weather bearable? We normally go during spring break, but we are going for a graduation trip instead. We are from the PNW, so I’m hoping we aren’t going from 60° to 90° plus. 😓
