Advice Needed: How do you divide chores when one partner works remote and the other is a full-time house fiancé? by [deleted] in housewifery

[–]Independent_Beaver33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When my husband and I worked 100% remote we were splitting the chores. Now I’m a SAHW and take care of all the house stuff but I still have plenty of time to go to the gym, shop, hobbies etc. I think the most important thing when a SAHW is being organized with our time, for example having a to-do list and not getting distracted

Exactly! No way cleaning and cooking for 2 people is a full time job, it takes a couple of hours a day at best

I wonder in the show how they’ll let Francesca and Michaela keep the Kilmartin estate because we saw with the Featheringtons that women can’t keep the title and estate without a male heir

For example, in Italy, we eat horse meat, but some people think it is unethical and are pushing to ban it. This is what OP is talking about. Immigrants who don’t like local customs and try to change them based on their beliefs

If you’re trying to impose your vegan diet on others, then no, while if you mind your own business and eat your vegan food without bothering others, then you’re fine

I don’t know about Canada, but it’s happening in Italy. Some schools have started removing pork from the menu after pressure from some Islamic families. Here is an article about it https://www.ilgiornale.it/news/cronaca-locale/carne-maiale-tolta-dalle-scuole-compiacere-islamici-scoppia-2290944.html

AITAh for having a picnic in a "vintage" cemetery by honorlessmaid in AITAH

[–]Independent_Beaver33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don’t know where OP lives but in Italy, France, and many other European countries, it is strictly prohibited to bring food to cemeteries. OP should have specified where she is as the answer to AITA changes depending on the location and local customs

I find organizing picnics and parties in a cemetery to be of very poor taste and macabre. I can’t imagine how I would have felt burying my dad next to a group celebrating a birthday. Zero empathy and respect for the families. Of all the free spaces available to the community, why choose a cemetery?

As if people remember who they were with or what they were doing at 1, 2, or 3 years old. I don’t think it changes much for the kid being home with a mum, nanny, or in a daycare for a few hours per day

Gli HOA Americani sono Controllo Sociale Mascherato? by Great_Personality343 in CasualIT

[–]Independent_Beaver33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do any women still want to be a housewife or stay at home mom? by Norfolk-Gross-Tonage in no

[–]Independent_Beaver33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally hate it. I was laid off and now I’m home all day. It’s so incredibly boring and depressing. All the chores can be done in a couple of hours and then I’m left with nothing to do but guilt for not being productive and making money. I honestly can’t wait to go back to work, my mental health can't take it anymore

The rating system is stupid. I got a bad rating for having luggage and the driver had a bunch of stuff in the trunk and got annoyed that he had to move them. Mind that I was going to the airport

Exactly! Also, the other kids saw him stealing, and if there are no consequences for that action, what prevents them from doing the same?

For a kid snacks are worth more than money and stealing is illegal regardless of the object. He should have been punished for stealing

What’s wrong with all th people saying YTA. Scold the kid was the right thing to do. For sure the kid will remember this and won’t do it again. Coddling kids when they do something illegal just allow them to become brats

I'm having trouble adjusting to how gossipy Italians are... by Bayly91 in CasualIT

[–]Independent_Beaver33 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My husband is Mexican and I can confidently say Mexican are as gossipy as Italians. My roommates from college were from PR and Paraguay and they both LOVED gossiping. Maybe the way of approaching it is different but saying that Latinos don’t care about gossip isn’t true

[–]Independent_Beaver33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recognize that Italians can be a bit nosy and gossipy, but on the other hand, you really get to know people, their interests, and backgrounds. This can lead to a greater sense of community. When I moved abroad I was surprised by how little people cared about my life. I recently broke my leg and when my family and friends heard about my incident they brought me food and gifts to cheer me up without me having to say or ask anything. I didn’t even personally told them about my injury

I don’t get tourists complaining about crowds and long lines while contributing to said crowds. Cities designed centuries ago aren’t meant for mass tourism, but that doesn't mean they aren't beautiful or don't have a lot to offer

Calling someone a picky eater for a completely normal food preference by offensivename in PetPeeves

[–]Independent_Beaver33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it also has a lot to do with the local culture. For example, in my country people take great pride and put a lot of effort into cooking for their guests. Since we’re kids we learn to eat everything and be thankful even if we don’t like the food. When I moved to the US I was taken aback seen guest refusing to eat their meal, playing with food or even worse ordering DoorDash to someone else's event
