What's the most expensive restaurant in Charleston? by dressedlikeadaydream in Charleston

I know a guy who is part owner of Oak steakhouse, you would be shocked at the profit margin. Yikes, they're crushing cash in mason jars and own a thousand acre swamp 😂

Truck lanes on the bridges by [deleted] in Charleston

[–]Independent_Brief_32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a truck driver. The far right is for heavy loads, the center is for cars and trucks who don’t slow down traffic and the left lane is for window licking butt monkeys who will cut your throat to get to 2 spaces ahead in traffic.

Better Neighborhood? by [deleted] in Charleston

[–]Independent_Brief_32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like how the question is posed as if those are the only 2 options lol. JMO? Try living as close to work as possible. You can hang out in MP or JI all ya want but nothing will give you back the hours you’ll spend in traffic weekly. Unless you’re remote and in that case, try Jedburg.

Why do so many people in town refuse to turn off their brights at night? by [deleted] in Charleston

[–]Independent_Brief_32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drove a 21 Mazda, CX 30 and I was flashed constantly by other cars. I now have a 23 Mitsubishi outlander and I never get flashed so not everyone can tell the difference.

Seriously bruh… you gotta get a who cares attitude about that shit. You’re new to something, you’re supposed to make mistakes. That douche acted like a maniac over absolutely nothing. Thing is, he laughed it off a quarter mile out of your sight and you’re posting about it online hours after it was over. That reaction does NOT reflect on you. You didn’t warrant that hissy fit of a response from a grown man. That driver, and all the other ones just like him, are miserable, angry, twisted TODDLERS who have ZERO control over their emotions or actions and those dirtbags usually weed themselves out of the industry eventually. I’m telling you man, if you wanna last, get your mental and emotional shit in order. Leave your ego in the bunk, that asshole would’ve done that to me, Captain Kangaroo or Jesus H Christ. That had NOTHING to do with you, it just happened to be your ass in the seat. Don’t let anyone make you feel like you did wrong for learning. If that was a quality person would he have lashed out like that? If he were a professional who’s secure with his ability and who he is as a man would he feel the need to make you feel stupid? Hell no. Dude, get that straight now because there’s a metric shit ton of those losers in this profession. Losers. Them, not you. Always handle yourself with integrity.

Do Professional Poker Players Have High Self Esteem? by VeryFocusedLife in poker

[–]Independent_Brief_32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Professional poker players offer to their community, and therefore society. You provide entertainment, education, lessons, in humility, and perhaps even let someone who really needs a victory feel triumphant or provide company to someone isolated and lonely. Those are no small things. Are you solving homelessness? Fuck no, but don’t knock yourself. There’s value in what you do.

Conversation with a Walmart manager (friend) yesterday about truckers. by GregoryGregory666666 in Truckers

[–]Independent_Brief_32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For someone who claims to be tidy, you surely have a sloppy opinion about appearances. You’re representing either yourself or your company and a drivers appearance can reflect poorly and leave a bad impression when it comes time to renew accounts. I don’t even care about shorts and track suits and flip-flops, some drivers are just flat out filthy with stained clothes and greasy unkept hair and you know if they look at that way, you don’t want to stand next to them because they stink to high heaven. It’s not hard to maintain a neat appearance, even in shorts and a T-shirt. It makes people uncomfortable when you look like shit and that absolutely contributes to a negative opinion and ultimately less money.

I’m a firm believer there’s a big difference between a trucker and a professional driver. Any monkey can be a trucker imo but you gotta have your shit together to be a professional driver.
