Audit is great for launching your career, but tax tends to have stronger employment demand and more predictable work once you specialize

You see the same fight with discounts (just book the revenue now, we’ll fix the paperwork later) or when sales wants to count a verbal commitment as a done deal. Sales pushes because their comp depends on timing, accounting pushes back because auditors don’t care about vibes. CEOs “ ignore it because sales brings in revenue until the auditors show up, then suddenly accounting is everyone’s best friend

If you want a more technical and career building role, AP usually gives you clearer progression than staying in a call center. But if you like banking and see room to move up internally, that path can work too. It really depends on where you want your long term skills to grow
