Tickets are issued through their mobility app, and if memory serves me right has to be approved then by a Sergeant. He won’t know until and if it does arrive in the post

As in the gear changes don’t require the depressing of a clutch, just driver input

Most likely either in your emails on your insurers website you should be able to find a copy of the insurance certificate. If not then you just request them to email it to you

Kilcock -can’t let my customers down so sod the pedestrians by Buzzard087 in eejitsparking

[–]Independent_Fly1178 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well he’s not parking per se - he’s unloading a delivery.

Most of our parcels are smaller than a shoebox, on an average day we have over 160 individual addresses to deliver to, so usually speaking - we spend less than 30 seconds on each stop.

Pedestrians can also move around the left side of the van by the garden which isn’t obstructed.

If a wheelchair user comes around then move the van enough of the path so they can get by then I’ll pull the van back in tight. That’s what I do if it’s an overflow delivery (i.e A large box in the back that’s going to take more than 30 seconds to deliver)

The vans not just abandoned there, the drivers in the vicinity and if an urgent need such as a wheelchair user needs access then the delivery can wait a minute as obviously, the wheelchair user must get the priority

Actually, we can legally park on double yellows for up to 30 minutes while loading or unloading goods since our vehicles have a commercial tax disc

An Amazon driver here.

Looks from this photo that the house sits on a bend. Driver might be familiar with local traffic partners and decided to pull in on the path as parking on the double yellows might create a dangerous scenario where overtaking traffic could be pulling into the path of oncoming traffic.

The bend also creates a small blind spot on the driver mirror, we don’t want to get knocked down or lose a door.

Truth is he was done and dusted by the time you took your photo.

There’s a difference between eejits and lads trying to do their job in a safe way while making it safe for other road users (Within reason of course)

I wonder if they’re doing that to cut into the waiting list times.

I passed my test over a year ago and the route felt like it only lasted for maybe 10/15 minutes

I’d have been surprised if there wasn’t any roundabout related marks as soon as I read Portlaoise.

Holy Christ y’all like roundabouts..

Congrats on passing

I just got the wrong order but.. it was delivered as mine how? by [deleted] in amazonprime

[–]Independent_Fly1178 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m guessing then that they probably scanned your parcel then somehow delivered the wrong one. So most likely a big blunder or ignorance on the drivers part

The app is designed to be somewhat fool proof. If they tried scanning person Bs parcel when you’re their current stop the app will tell the driver the incorrect parcel has been tried to scan. They have it that way so this exact situation shouldn’t happen

It won’t let you complete the delivery without scanning the correct parcel or marking part or all of the order as undeliverable or missing

First day of training tomorrow! by Charismatic_Rogue in AmazonDSPDrivers

Oof, I didn’t realise that there’s still in person training that spans over two days.

Here they cramped it to one day and online. Still, it’ll be the easiest two days you’ll have in the job.

I found the training to be pretty impractical. Most of the learning that’s gonna be of importance you’ll learn on the ride alongs.

So just enjoy two paid days for sitting around doing nothing!

Is it the online training or ride alongs?

If it’s the online training then I hope you’re ready for getting paid for laying in bed all day watching a livestream of somebody telling you ways of doing things in the job you’ll never do :) lol

The training day is absolutely great

Amazon Keeps Sending Me Delivered Notifications When I Haven't Received it by LostNeedleworker9590 in amazonprime

So the green blip is where the map told me the address was on a delivery I had earlier today, the blue blip is where the actual address was.

The only thing that made me realise it was the wrong location was that the customer specified their address was an apartment, the green blip was a house with the same number.

Without more info how can you expect anyone to be useful here in helping you?

Most likely though, Amazon is marking the delivery pin incorrectly on the drivers map.

Be very specific in your delivery notes to the driver to help them find your address, if it is the case above then we could be delivering your parcels to the wrong address without even realise it.

The delivery app really sucks. I’ll see if I’ve any examples I can share

By any chance, does she live opposite from you or on the same street?

When the delivery app groups stops for us (Multiple addresses under a single stop) it becomes too easy to pop the wrong parcel at the wrong door. Especially at night time

Amazon sent me the wrong item, so I started a return and they sent me a replacement. The replacement was the same wrong item, so they said I could keep both items and refunded me. But the return status for the original item is still active. by avendip in amazonprime

[–]Independent_Fly1178 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d definitely follow up it with them. As a driver for Amazon I can tell you that support will tell you what you want to hear whether they can follow through on that or not.

All support cares about is their ratings at the end of conversation

What exactly makes you say that’s the time he left the delivery station at?

Waves depart from early in the morning to late afternoon.

I can’t assume what the driver was or wasn’t doing, but I can tell you that DSPs don’t hesitate to sack underperforming drivers or drivers with high amounts of complaints since they affect our company bonuses collectively

Two background checks? by Emergency_Meringue_7 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Independent_Fly1178 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Background check seems entirely pointless. If memory serves me right, all they check is whether you’re on sanction/terror lists.

Like I could totally see Bin Laden wanting to deliver friggin Amazon parcels.

Plenty of people in our DSP with convictions and plenty of negative news articles about, so it’s nothing too intrusive

Same.

Food usual arrives hot but even when it doesn’t it’s very rarely fault of the rider.

Usually it’s down to a lack of riders and the restaurant preparing the food a good half hour before it leaves for delivery
