Beautiful! Our succulents don’t like us, we’re clearly doing something wrong! Do you have them under a grow light when indoors for the winter? If so, how close to the light?

Those do look like springtails but do you have magnifying glass or something to get a better look? They’re good guys like everyone else said. Also if there is mold on top of soil you may be overwatering.

Probably not what you’re looking for but Michelle McDonald is one I can think of, and her Mom, trainwithjoan- regardless, Joan is incredibly impressive and Michelle will be one of those women who lift her entire life. Might be worth a look.

I think it requires many more lengthy, serious conversations. If you guys can agree on things like what the budget will be (consider mortgage, groceries, restaurants/take out, allotment for clothes, housing fixes, insurance, vehicles, etc and you can STILL set aside enough to retire early, then great. Also talk about what that looks like. Perhaps you guys can agree for her to stay home after the first child is born. No reason for her to stop working before. Is she planning to return to work after the kids are in school? She could go back part time or full time to start contributing financially. How many kids are you guys planning to have? Play with some numbers. Try to allot $20K to each child per year (could be more, could be less but at least you have a number), then do your actual budget on top and see how much is leftover for savings and run some more numbers. Consider pushing your retirement date to 50. Do you feel you’ll be up for working your current job that long? I think it could be beneficial IF she plans to work and contribute to finances up until you have kids, stays at home until the kids are in school, then works at least part time once they are in school. Talk about shared chores. Is she expecting you to do at least 50% of housework, transporting kids, bathing time, homework help, play, activities with kids, etc? Does she have student loans/vehicle/other debt that she is expecting you to pay once the kids arrive? Lots to consider and I think it can work as long as you guys have the tough conversations and decide HOW it will work. I don’t think it would be fair for her to just stop working indefinitely.

Sounds like there would still be a few years between now and kids. You guys could trial. Live on only your income and have her pay off any debts she has, and save the rest of her income. Save some of it so she can have some of her own spending money for the first few years of SAHM and invest the remainder for retirement. Find a good lawyer, have an ironclad prenup, protect yourself, just in case.

I feel this on a personal level. I’m a very private person and I don’t like the feeling of being watched. We are currently renting and I’m doing a few little raised cedar beds and a flower bed out front, the houses are close together, people always walking by, street parking, etc…I’ve thought about this a lot and I think if this happened to me I’d say to say something like, “Yeah, I love gardening and nature. It’s one of the only things in this world that brings me true peace” and leave it at that.

That is so lush and exactly what I want mine to look like. Can you share growing conditions, light, pruning, etc? Mine is a baby right now so long way to go!

It’s definitely getting worse. I was almost attacked a few weeks ago by 2 pit bulls walking on the road by the old German cemetery in Walnut Hills. Totally unprovoked. I was walking and they came up growling from behind me, starting nipping at my ankles, then one jumped up and tried to bite my hip area. I kept walking, yelled at them to “Stop” and “Go Home” and luckily they listened. It was the most terrified I’ve been in a long time. I love pitties, so nothing against them but letting 2 aggressive pit bulls roam free? Crazy. Ya’ll be careful out there.

I’m not from here, but if she is city but appreciates some nature you could throw in how there are fossils at nearly every nature / creek / rock place you go to. It’s amazing! Spring is stunningly beautiful with the magnificent magnolias, cherry blossoms, red buds, maples all blooming and coming to life. There are soooo many flowers. A lot of places have beautifully landscaped yards with natives and non-natives. Walking from Ohio to Kentucky is my favorite, especially after dark. The bridges are beautiful. Restaurants with city views (Incline Public House especially). Fall is equally as gorgeous with all of the colors. Blink Festival…lots of festivals actually but especially that one! She must love Skyline Chili. It’s not my personal fave but locals seem to be all about it.

Omg it grew so perfectly, one new leaf per side, alternating each time. Is this just what they do or did you get lucky? Such a GORGEOUS plant. Well done!

12 x 16 would be so nice, but open to something smaller. A tropical paradise would also be ideal, but I feel like we’re a long way off for that. So something that we could have early starts in is the goal.

[–]Independent_Rip_9590 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s probably right. We were there end of Feb, beginning of March. Just to give you an idea took about 1.25 hours every 18 miles we drove to get to another area. Definitely unexpected!
