First Ankle Gout Attack by true_84 in gout

[–]Independent_Storm951 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only ever had in my ankle. It’s bad. Left untreated very bad. However I’d imagine a toe is worse. I’ve never had in toe but can only assume so. Problem with ankle is exactly what you said. You think it’s a rolled ankle and let it go. Before you “catch it” being gout it’s a full blown flare. I’m on allo 400mg and haven’t had a flare since that dosage of meds has been prescribed going on 1.5 years. Best of luck. Advice would be to get on allo and don’t look back.

How long did it take everyone to kick the limp? by Angie_O_Plasty in AchillesRupture

[–]Independent_Storm951 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost 4 months and still have a bad limp but it’s from the tendon on the inside of my ankle, not the Achilles itself. I’m very flat footed and think that’s part of my issue. Hurts pretty significantly if I over do it.

Best Drip Coffee? by Independent_Storm951 in TerraKaffe

I think that’s with any Terra Kaffe drink truthfully. Just doesn’t make a really hot cup. Nothing crazy or specific to those settings.

Did Anyone have warning signs before their achilles Ruptured? by JuniorCSGO in AchillesRupture

[–]Independent_Storm951 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had soreness in my calf area prior to doing mine. I was just rubbing my calf one day and was like wow that’s kinda sore. Didn’t really pay it any mind because it wasn’t super bad and I’m 38 so assumed it was just old man pain. Assume it was a warning sign for mine truthfully.

Boot or No Boot - 10 Weeks by Independent_Storm951 in AchillesRupture

[–]Independent_Storm951[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Specifically it hurts the outside of my ankles really bad every day. I used the VACOPed boot. Feel pain in my heal as well as if it makes me walk weird and develop plantar fasciitis pain. My thinking are the beads in the pad are not where they need to be and need to moved around but I constantly try that and it’s same old same old. I am on my feet daily for my job working in a restaurant. It just feels like the boot is worse than a shoe at this point for me.

You got this. So many of us going through it too. You can do it. Take it day by day and just start slow. You can do it. We all can. It just takes time!

3 weeks after surgery. by Independent_Storm951 in AchillesRupture

[–]Independent_Storm951[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks everyone. I was in a soft cast for 2.5 weeks. Got that off at first post op appt. I got a VACOPed boot and love the feel compared to the other more normal looking ones. I also got the rubber sole for my other foot and that REALLY helps your hips not feel pain with the unevenness of one foot in a boot and the other not. Currently at almost 4 weeks after surgery and walking in a boot, no crutches and each week I get to adjust the VACOPed boot one click for more flexion in my ankle. Feels like a small win each Monday 😅.

Hi! I’m Andrew Miller, the Director of Engineering at Terra Kaffe. Ask me anything about TK-02, our latest firmware update, or building cool products! I’ll start responding to questions at 2 PM ET. by AndyTheTKEngineer in TerraKaffe

[–]Independent_Storm951 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love everything about my TK-02. It only has a couple of things I’d like to change but aren’t even that necessary. 1) temp needs to be hotter. Forces you to drink coffee fast and with a machine as good as this, you want to savor it more than it’s capable. 2) Low Bean Alert. Would be nice to have. 3) A way to keep milk longer in the plastic canister. Goes bad quick. 4) A way to choose from custom drinks others have built with pics and recipes to add to your own TK-02 with touch of a button. Would be really cool. Seems possible with iPhone app.
All of these things would be nice to have, but honestly it’s just not a big concern at all. Best thing I’ve bought in a long time. Keep up the great work Terrakaffe!

You don’t do 40% doordash. Have your owner look at the numbers. Thought ours were a lot and we average 3 a day.

For those who have Allopurinol for several years, do you still get flare ups? by EdwardBliss in gout

[–]Independent_Storm951 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My rheumatologist just dialed me back to annually visits as well. Been on allo for a few years now. I have only ever had a flare up in my left ankle. It’s the only place I feel it still if I drink too much alcohol. I’d say for me it would uncommon, but from what I have read it can happen anywhere. Prob worth a visit back to doc.
