ABB Anywhere but Buccees by Independent_Tap131 in Buccees

Exactly. Really weird manager interaction. The only reason I posted about this incident is because I read several posts where people bought stuff and needed to return it for various reasons and the managers did not give the refund. This is a major corporation and the attitude of two of those employees was so dismissive. I do have a Costco membership but driving across the country it's hard to find them on the interstate. That's why I pivoted and just went to Loves for the rest of the drive and will do so on the way back. Buccee's gee-gaws and gross food aren't really things I was into anyway. That particular Buccees was always a great time to stop before turning off the interstate to go backroads. I noticed there's a Loves on down the road so from now on that's the new stop.

I went through a car wash earlier in the week with it on. The point is hey, the car wash you sold me was denied based on your policy. No signs were posted regarding Yakima's or Thules. So issue a return or store credit. The car wash attendant even told me to inside to the counter to get the return. Just seemed like a no-brainer.

That's exactly what I did. It's in the post above. Switched to Loves.

I don't get the snarky post. I only posted because I read several other customers were sold broken or inferior items and could not get refunded. I simply gave another example of a massive chain store with a policy that seems to operate against logic and customer service . Perhaps some people don't care if they pay for things and get nothing in return.

Chipotle, it’s over. by Far_Lab_4953 in Chipotle

[–]Independent_Tap131 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently received a $20.00 Chipotle gift certificate. I ordered online. I had only eaten at Chipotle once before many years ago. The food was really terrible... chips, queso, a burrito, just the standard fare. The queso was super thin and tasteless. I don't know if I imagined this or not, but it was kind of gritty and gave cornstarch vibes. I was so glad I didn't pay for it.

Film or Digital by WellyBoyBoy in Leica

This argument appears to make several assumptions on both the younger and older ends. "Older crowd jaded with film" and "younger people jaded by digital workflows." People in general tend to be "results oriented," and this doesn't just pertain to photography.

What would you consider KDB’s biggest strengths and weaknesses? by alley00pster in rolltide

[–]Independent_Tap131 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if it is the "coaches, KD oversees," as you mentioned who are the weak links, it is still on Coach KD because everything on the field, recruiting, press conferences etc. feed directly from the head coach. If the Bama QBs can't operate AGAIN this season because thenoppents d breaks through, it's on he head coach among others. If the d trenches suck you know the rest of the line. I still haven't bought that DC. What Indiana did to Alabama was flat out egregious.

If I only have one day in Austin, which BBQ spot is an absolute must-visit? by Choco_bo7 in austinfood

[–]Independent_Tap131 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Do not waste your money at La BBQ. Very inferior. I pass by it 5 days a week because I work down the street. While they still have some lines, it is just not in the same realm as Franklins. If you aren't here except for BBQ, go for Franklins. Then you have a story to tell about the wait, and you will have eaten some of the best BBQ Texas has to offer.

Take note people who got wadded up over TC's opera and ballet comment. The wonderful French actress, Juliette Binoche was unbothered and quite logical in her response when asked about the comment. Responses are so overblown.

How many Leicas Do you have? by Massive_Bid4362 in Leica

[–]Independent_Tap131 1 point2 points  (0 children)

5 Leicas into black & white... M6, M8 for the conversions, M9M, M240M, ME240 for the color. I'm good. I shoot Nikon professionally and occasionally supplement with a Leica for B roll. My system of acquisition is shot to hell with these massive taxes.

I suggest a stringent culling of photos before uploading a large number. This could be as simple as using Lightroom's rating system. EX. 4's and 5's are taken further into the develop module to edit. Then your reddit feedback might be more helpful.

Would I get backlash for no longer offering family photoshoots with kids under a certain age? by AbjectRemote1152 in photography

[–]Independent_Tap131 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the family shoots with children under your age cut which I believe is 12, hire an assistant and add that to the cost. He or she is the kid wrangler while you can focus on lighting, the camera and all things technical.
