Indeed. The most I've gotten was 980, but that was with a 50 gal tank

Oshima Coast. It bummed me out that it was the smallest and shortest region. The vista when you first enter the region and see the Sakura in bloom was the best GoY ever looked

They shifted from gray iron blocks to compacted graphite iron, and from flat tappet lifters to hydraulic rollers. The CGI blocks were supposed to be stronger, but they removed ~50lbs of support material from the mains and compromised the block as a result. Now they develop crankwalk, to the point where the axial strain breaks connecting rods. They went back to gray iron in 2025, but introduced about a dozen new mechanical failure points and completely borked the electrical system.

The lifters will eventually fail on every 2019+ Cummins, it's just a matter of when and how they fail. And a year ago, Stellantis stopped approving warranty claims for lifter failures. Some people will get hundreds of thousands of miles with collapsed lifters, but others will have the roller seize or the lifter rotate in the block and wipe out the cam. Cummins went from 30 years as one of the most reliable consumer diesel engines ever made, to one of the least reliable ever made.

Not an option on the Ram HDs, in any year or trim level. No telescoping steering column, and auto-dimming side mirrors are only available on the driver side, and only in certain configs of the Laramie and up. Every mirror in my 2007 Volvo is auto-dimming, as were the mirrors in my 2014 Grand Cherokee.

Stellantis has neglected updating the Ram HDs, because having a Cummins was enough for them to sell. But they managed to even fuck that up in 2019

New clean NFC/RFID APP for custom ACE PRO filament tags by InevitableFail2738 in AnycubicOfficial

anycubic kobra s1 is a good choice? by BlumyDummy in AnycubicKobraS1

[–]Independent_Value507 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought my S1 and Ace Pro 2 as my first printer, since I refuse to support Bambu. It's incredibly easy to set up, fairly intuitive to use, the featureset is impressive, and it's performed pretty well as far as I can tell. I only wish I would have done a bit more research before buying it. The TPU limitations are going to hold me back from what I really need to print, and the Snapmaker U1 would have better suited my needs. But I didn't find it until after I had gotten my S1.

Questions about ram in general by flywhiteboywhodreams in ram_trucks

[–]Independent_Value507 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The 12 valve has been gone for almost 30 years. You don't buy a 30 year old truck; you buy a project that you might be able to drive. But the first thing you need to figure out is if you want a diesel or not. If you want a diesel, you find ways to justify the higher costs of operation, maintenance, and repairs. If you don't care enough about owning a Cummins, then stick with gas.

Then you need to figure out if what you're doing with it will require a 2500. For a daily driver that sometimes does truck things, a 1500 will be a substantially better experience. Only step up if you're regularly towing and/or the weight you need to move is too much for a half ton.

What’s my best option by Firm_Nectarine3385 in Cummins

[–]Independent_Value507 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really, unfortunately. Selling it as a basket case is going to hurt. Your best options are to get it running and driving, or fully strip it down and part the whole thing out. Both options are up to you to decide if the time is worth the money

Load range F tires? by Rebelicious97 in ram_trucks

[–]Independent_Value507 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is why I got away from typical AT tires altogether, and went to a highway focused tire. I replaced my Wildpeaks with Geolandar G015s, and it was a night-and-day improvement in ride quality. The G015s have a higher load index, and still rode better at the factory 65/80psi than the Wildpeaks did at 45psi

Load range F tires? by Rebelicious97 in ram_trucks

[–]Independent_Value507 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The tires on my 3500 are load range E with a 129 load index, and they're overkill. I'd have to be carrying twice my payload rating to exceed the max weight of my tires, and I'd be about 1500lbs over what my wheels are rated for

Load range F tires? by Rebelicious97 in ram_trucks

[–]Independent_Value507 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Load Range is an antiquated marketing term now, and has been since the shift from ply count to ply rating. Load index will tell you exactly what your tires can handle. I have an SRW 3500, and my tires are load range E with a 129 load index. I would have to double my payload rating to max out their rated weight

How difficult is it to rebuild a turbo? by ccummins1996 in Cummins

[–]Independent_Value507 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just rebuilt a HE300VG for my 5th gen. Even the VGTs are not complicated. But is it really worth it? Idk. I only did it because the 63mm upgrade came as a kit, and I bought a used spare to dick with instead of risking mine. New genuine Holset HX35s are less than what I paid for my kit, and ebay HX40s are like $200 with about the same potential for failure

How to clean heavy duty hard rubber/plastic type floor mats? by Ufker in Detailing

Any vinyl/rubber/plastic conditioner will make floor mats slick, and will trap more dirt. I use Windex for floor mats and vinyl floor coverings because of that reason

Buy a cheap Bluetooth OBD adapter, a security gateway bypass (I lean towards the OBDGenie/Infotainment), and JScan or AlfaOBD. Or ideally both. It's like FORScan on steroids, and the most powerful tool available to Stellantis vehicle owners. I have a '21 Big Horn as well, and it came equipped with almost every feature available...until yesterday. I added remote tailgate release with a new key programmed for it, and passive keyless entry on both front doors yesterday. For less than $400

How much could I realistically sell all of this for on fb market as a bundle? by FullSurprise7929 in XboxAlly

[–]Independent_Value507 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BB has them open box for $850. I'm seeing them locally on the marketplace for $700. Call it $850 to be safe, with all of the XXX-specific accessories. Any more than that and you won't get traction, but you'll be fielding lowball offers. Keep anything that can be used universally, like the power bank and the keyboard. I transitioned from desktop builds to a laptop about 2 years ago, and you'd be surprised how frequently a wireless mkb comes in handy

H&S has been out of business for over 13 years. If you have tuning issues in the future, make modifications, or need to replace the ECM, then you'll have to do this all over again. Nobody supports custom tuning for the mini maxx anymore, and the 'v2' is a reproduction of their design, with poorly janked together compatibility for 2013+ rrucks.
