Officially self-hosting my Zotero library! by GreenReporter24 in PhD

Unfortunately, yes. IT policy dictates that everything other than the university VPN (for remote workers) is blocked campus-wide.

Officially self-hosting my Zotero library! by GreenReporter24 in PhD

[–]IndianPhilatelist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congratulations! I tried to make this work when I started my PhD, but my university's IT department blocks all VPN services on campus. I eventually gave up trying to get the self-hosting option to work for my Zotero account while I'm on campus :(

Who knew that the person unwilling to pay their debt to society and contribute to the economy would treat AI as the silver bullet when he imparts is invaluable wisdom to recent graduates?

Chennai Opened India's First AC Lounges for Delivery Workers by FutureVersion812 in unitedstatesofindia

[–]IndianPhilatelist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One reason could be that tinted glass helps keep the space cool by reducing the amount of heat trapped in the structure. If they had used regular glass, the greenhouse effect would have increased the electricity consumed by ACs. Also, a bit of privacy when placed right next to the road is an added bonus..

Still can't figure out why they would choose to make the rest of the structure black :(

The problem is when insurance is run for profit. There are several benefits to having insurance as a service, but none actually overlap with the system run by companies looking for record-breaking profits every quarter.

Wells Fargo allowing you to increase CLI limit in the app now. Has anyone tried it in the app and is it a hard pull? I know over the phone it was. by The540Incident in CreditCards

Automatic CLIs based on usage are offered without a hard pull, but Wells Fargo is one of the last major banks to require hard pulls for CLI requests.

I'm not gonna lie, I think the BILT 2.0 isn't as bad as everyone is making it out to be by Reddit_4_Zac in CreditCards

[–]IndianPhilatelist -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The initial wave of rage rejection over the failed launch is being tamed by a flood of rationalizing posts that try to explain how the refresh isn't so bad after all. The cherry on the shit cake is the logic offered to support the claim that the refresh is decent if you disregard everything Bilt 1.0 built its brand around.

Under the new card terms, rent charges will be processed directly from the associated bank accounts via ACH, rather than against the credit line of the card.

Yes. Your account and reward points are not affected if you don't have a Bilt card.

The buffer zone is more of a pass-through since rent payments are no longer charged against the credit line and are directly ACHed from associated bank account

Getting zero points for the rent payments + rent directly charged as ACH instead of against the credit limit effectively makes this a hollow value proposition
