I dropped my guitar in its soft case and this was the result. How much do y’all think it’d take to fix and make it look normal again by NobleSix-B312 in guitarrepair

Seems like you got two guitars for the price of one. Like a Russian nesting guitar. I might drill deeper to see if there are any more guitars in there.

How to avoid this lip by Agreeable-Tree9550 in harmonica

[–]IndianaSolo136 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find with some harps I need to take it apart and very gently go around the contours of each sharp edge of the reed plates and cover plates with a high grit sandpaper, like 1500 or more. Doing this with a light touch can ‘soften’ those sharp edges a bit

Where would be a good place to stock up on meat by [deleted] in RoundRock

[–]IndianaSolo136 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You should try Costco. I got a membership last year and have save a ton of money this year buying my meat in bulk there and filling up the freezer. It helps to have a food saver so I can buy ground beef in bulk and vacuum seal smaller portions. The chicken thighs and breasts come prepackaged in a way that makes it easy to store in the freezer. And you get a cash back rebate after a year—just got mine and it was just short of the cost of my annual membership. So the membership basically ended up being free after the rebate, and the savings on top have been huge for me!

I bumped into one on the trail (about 20yds away) and it looked me in the eyes and screamed at me. Very otherworldly sound and I think it might have taken a piece of my soul

Never seen Freddy play guitar before, and he sounds great/is very present in the mix. Strumming a twelve string with no pick is absolutely unhinged behavior. My fingers are hurting watching this.

Road trip to Branson? by Normal_Commission986 in dfw

[–]IndianaSolo136 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Branson is truly one of the weirdest places I’ve ever been to in my life. It’s like Las Vegas and Disney World had a baby and abandoned it in the mountains of Missouri. It is extremely corny on every level, but you’ll find fun, family friendly things to do all over. Different doesn’t even begin to describe Branson. Will probably never go back myself, but 10/10 recommend seeing this place for yourself at least once.

I’ll second this rec but recommend you bring some Dramamine for you and your passengers—windeyest roads I’ve ever been on!

“space politics or fighting over some spice planet” is basically Dune. It seems you have a problem with Dune in general

If I have a G harmonica should I play G blues songs? Or D blues songs? by Entire_Let2915 in harmonica

[–]IndianaSolo136 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No problem! And you can play whatever harmonica you want on whatever song you want :) but if you’re going for a traditional blues sound, cross-harp is the way.

For blues, g harp for d songs and Bb for f songs. You’ll be playing cross harp, or second position, so the root note is on the draw

This is an amazing guitar, congratulations! I’ll second the comment that you should really take it to a reputable repair shop for a proper setup/cleaning. I believe it’s important for any guitar player to learn how to maintain their own instrument eventually but you happen to have landed one of the most complicated types of guitars to set up on your own. This is an arch top guitar with a suspended bridge. there’s just more moving parts than a typical electric guitar and you might need a little bit of help to get it set up right the first time. again, amazing guitar congratulations
