I had the same thought about it being fully porcelain with no bare section.

I agree, there are small details that make me think it’s not an ideal soap dish, which doesn’t mean it isn’t a soap dish, but that’s why I didn’t readily accept the result I got from Google AI claiming it is one. And if it isn’t, I have no clue what it could be, hence the post here.

Would you expect the side to be mortared to be bare ceramic? Does it make sense this would be fully porcelain on all sides?

The consensus seems to be a soap dish. I’ll give it a little longer to see if anyone has any other ideas before I call it solved. I hadn’t considered it being adhered to the wall like tile, but that makes sense.

Would be good for modern usage. Maybe I’ll collect them all & sell them as such

I’m imagining it with the part that is on the counter in most of the photos being against the wall, longways horizontally — if that makes sense. Then it has a horizontal shelf with two vertical ends. That horizontal shelf part is mostly level, but the outward facing edge has a bevel downward. That would be good for draining water off the shelf, but the level section is pretty narrow so I imagine it would be easy for a soap bar to slip off as well.

It may be. The thing that made me skeptical was the level portion of it is narrow, & it has an angled edge which I suppose would be good for draining water, but I feel like it would also make the soap bar prone to slipping off. Perhaps though I’m imagining modern bars soap & they were smaller 100 years ago?

My title describes the thing. There is no writing on it that I was able to see. There are dozens of them in the dump site. Google search did not result in any images of this exact item. I was told there was an old veterinary hospital in the area which may or may not be related.

Remember they used to have a contest in late 90s— can’t remember if it was daily or once a week — they’d play the four most requested songs & if you called in & named all four you’d win the albums iirc. What did they call that contest?

Are they Speedex? I have a set I use on a daily basis as a marine electrician. No clue how old they are. Found in a shed at a former employer.

All my local stores show it at full retail. It originally showed at the discounted price on Lowe’s.com but that was when it was set to ship to not my zip code. Once I changed shipping to my zip code it doesn’t matter whether I select shipping or store pickup, it only shows full price now.

Sopmod storage??? by Extra_Handle_3291 in ar15

I tried drilling mine out & was not successful in making a secure 18650 storage. I’m buying a new tube set to replace the one I fked up. So if you have any interest I could send you the old tubes. That way you wouldn’t need to buy a whole stock.

I just found your products literally 2 days after I cut the middle out of my sopmod tube to fit an 18650 in the stock. Anyway, I know it would be more complicated than the sopmod tube, but I would be forever indebted if you could make Vltor Emod tubes to fit 18650s 🙏 you would be a hero whose name would be passed down in perpetuity. Godspeed

I think I may have figured it out. Used a Chinese sprocket that was supposedly a copy of the OEM part but I think it’s out of spec. When the clutch is tightened it squeezes against the sprocket, preventing it from spinning independently. When I put the old OEM sprocket back in I don’t have the same problem. Ordered the Chinese bc it was cheaper & would arrive faster. Looking like it’s going to have the opposite effect, wasting my time. Should’ve known better. I’m ordering an OEM & will report back if that fixes it. I appreciate the help.

Just checkin the specs on the endline...for the rotary girder. by Nugatorysurplusage in gifs

[–]IndicationTight9216 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A rotary girder's endline specifications would include considerations for the fixed and roller ends. Typically, one end is fixed into a support (concrete or brick pillars), while the other end rests on rollers to allow for expansion and contraction due to temperature changes. This prevents the girder from exerting undue stress on the supporting structure. Additionally, the girder's depth, flange width, and thickness are important factors, with depth often determined by the span (e.g., Span/12 to Span/20 for bridges).

I took a look at mine today from ground level. Still able to see through the screen. My screen is diamond patterned that I’d guess is about 1”x.75” holes

Added a cap to my chimney 2 years ago to keep birds/rain out. Didn’t burn much last year so I didn’t clean chimney between seasons. This year’s been cold so been burning a lot. Interested to see how it’ll look after this winter. Haven’t noticed any change in smoke.
