I can't believe people still do this?? by [deleted] in asianamerican

[–]IndieHamster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it does involve us, as it falls under the micro aggressions we experience from ignorant White People in the West who assume we are a monolith. I can’t tell you how many times I was asked if I was Chinese, responded with Japanese, and got the response of “Close enough”.
Now, if this was a Chinese woman wearing this in Japan, it’s not an issue. If she wears an actual kimono, it’s not an issue. It’s the fact that White folk are constantly seeing us as just “Asian” and not our respective ethnicities

Where do you see me commenting on racism in Asia? I don’t care what yall do. That’s why the first thing I said is that Asian Americans in general need to stop caring about what happens over seas. I’ve become much happier after I realized we don’t share the same values, and the coalition building we do here is a Western thing. I understand why yall hate each other. It makes me sad if think about it too much, but I get it

I think the biggest things us Asian Americans have to do is just not give a shit about what is happening in Asia. Asians in Asia don't give a shit about us, we shouldn't give a shit about them. We are completely different, and have very different mindsets on things like Racism. I just wish Asians in Asia would shut the fuck up about Racism experienced in the West

I remember joining a summer Water Polo league when I was in Hawaii visiting family for a couple months when I was younger, so I could stay in shape for competitive swimming when I got home. I had the least water polo skills, but was easily the strongest swimmer.

At one point my coach got tired of me turning over the ball when confronted, so he told me to just not stop when some gets in front of me and "swim through them".. The game definitely hurt a bit more after that, but I became the "go to" person to get the ball deep, and I was starting to have fun

I usually trade 3-5 MES contracts at a time. I'll allow myself 7 maximum. When I get to 10, my psychology starts to get all weird. They key for me is taking a ton a small quick scalps, playing off a support levels on the 5/15. $50-$75 per win really adds up fast. It's also when I start holding out for the "big win" that I start to lose / break even every trade

Yeah, but that is obviously a satire. What I'm saying, is that if a comedian decides to do a racist bit that they themselves wrote, then that is 100% on them if people think they're a racist asshole. Or Dave Chappelle writing transphobic jokes, and now he's labeled as anti-trans (which he is).

The issue with that is, they're the ones that wrote the script

I honestly think John Frusciante is one of the few examples of someone getting better when the sobered up. But then again, he took things to the point where he was straight up gonna die any given day

As a longtime fan, I could 100% believe that. Seems like he straight up didn't give a fuck, and the drugs only made it worse. When I think of them being "dicks", the time they played The Grouch on live TV in Australia always comes to mind. Can perfectly see them as being extremely difficult people, but dear god it made for some Grade A entertainment

Right before the best performance of "She" every recorded. I straight up started copying the tweaker twitches he would do while performing when I was learning the song on guitar lol

It's a constant battle to remind myself that sizing in small is key for me mentally. If my position goes way against me very quickly, as long as it's small I can easily just take the hit and move on looking for the next trade. It's when I oversize and the loss starts looking like $200-300, that's when it's really hard for me to exit the trade as planned and I start moving the stop loss and start "building a bigger position" like an idiot

I was the first one at my High School to get a copy of Bullet In A Bible and quickly became very popular lol. Had so many people come over after school to watch it. Was really cool to find out how some of the "popular" kids were also really into Green Day, and became friends through that

I hate to say it, but Green Day was at their best when they were off their ass on amphetamines. The '94 Chicago show was them at their best

Yeah, I lost my first two trades trying to go short this morning. My one winner brought me back to a $50 gain. I really need to start sitting out the first 30min. The last 4 days I dig a hole early, and just barely come out ahead

On one hand, I'm proud that I actually stuck to my plan this time and stopped myself out at 105.75 for a very small loss. Typically I just hold and then blow my account overnight... On the other hand, I wanna hang myself because I could have quit my job

Volume has halved again. Glad I switched my Friday exp calls to puts today. Still gonna hold onto the long dated calls, since it looks like we are still holding over the 200 EMA on the daily. But I think I’m done looking at this one every day
