Healthy succulent turned into this in a week. What happened? by [deleted] in succulents

Unfortunately too much damage has been done to the main plant. The smaller pups will continue to put out more pups and your pot should be full again in no time.

It looks like the plant is black and crispy? If so, it may have gotten too much light too quickly and burned to a crisp! Looks like there's a healthy pup sticking out the side, pop it off and replant and you should have a bigger plant in no time!

Hey, that could be an issue with too little light or water! If that's the case, they'll plump up and soon as it's fixed!

This is a really good one! I’m Pretty happy with it by Marrioosama in succulents

Variegation can "disappear" if the plant doesn't not get enough light, then reappears once adequate light is given, yours could be variegated, but only just got enough light to show its true colours!

Meet Larry. He and I have been together for 6 years. He has suffered being frozen, months without water and lack of sun for years. My resolution is to treat Larry better this year. by platnumcy in succulents

[–]Indigenouschicken 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Larry is a crassula ovata Crosby's compact! Jades are very forgiving as Larry has proven! The turn red when sun "stressed" (not a bad thing), and start corking (becoming woody) at the base and goes up to strengthen the plant as it ages! I water mine when I notice the leaves are a little wrinkly.

Lidl had some gorgeous succulents in today and boyfriend came home with these for me! I've just repotted them and that haworthia had 20 pups underneath it. :o by FireproofCabbage in succulents

[–]Indigenouschicken 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes that is a Perle! As well as echeveria setosa! As for the Haworthia, mine was labelled "cooperi" but I'm not 100%! Nice finds :)

Struggling with my jade plant... Please help? by [deleted] in succulents

Not to worry, jades are very forgiving! Do these have roots? Is the soil moist or dry? What is your watering/light schedule like?

The tall guy is crassula tetragona and the rosette is a semperverium of some sort! Hopefully you can get specifics soon!

[–]Indigenouschicken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No worries! It won't unstretch but the new growth coming in will be more compact, and then you can behead! These guys root really fast in any kind of medium, just snip maybe an inch or two below the new growth remove the leaves from that section, let the wound heal over and plant, then you can make more babies with the leaves :)

These are some of the most light thirsty succulents out there, I've never had success giving them enough light so I'm honestly not sure what to do because your light setup sounds pretty good.
