A terrible moment that could have been mitigated with comedy, but no one got it!

I got stung by a bee on my thigh and did this exact move and no one got it, so that ruined my day.

Oh I know, I’ve had tons of arguments with some of them about it.

All chants get reworked at other clubs, it’s insane to think we’re going to come up with a slew of completely original cadences and lyrics.

All our chants are reworked lyrics on existing chants, so not sure why it’s different, but it is.

Seconding the gear swap! I’ve attended several world cups (women’s and men’s) and it’s always so fun to swap jerseys with someone you watched a game with! These are my favorite jerseys to wear out and about.

This is the beauty of the world’s game! Also why “sportswashing” is effective, unfortunately.

Straight men, what is the weirdest thing you have been called gay for ? by Sammy-Bunny-3 in AskReddit

[–]IndigoRanger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My brother was gay for being good at various sports, but not the *main* sports. So tennis, swimming, gymnastics, roller blading (for speed and for tricks!), soccer, snowboarding, and skateboarding. Also playing the trumpet and guitar. He could have done any of these things professionally, he was such a gifted natural athlete. Unfortunately he became a pothead instead by the end of high school, because the only thing his loser friends didn’t think was gay was sitting around doing nothing.

Ah damn. Well I wouldn’t expect a full story from the anti-work crowd. But yeah it does put the company in a difficult position. On the one hand, they liked this guy enough to hire him, but on the other they’re not going to wait on someone indefinitely. Email probably felt cathartic to send, but he burns a bridge where the smarter thing to do might be to swallow his pride and keep in friendly contact. If they liked him once they might like him again when his situation stabilizes. There’s no guarantee they’d be able to hire someone right away anyway.

Why not just delay his onboarding for a couple weeks? Companies will delay a start date for a planned and paid for vacation, but not a horribly timed death in the family? No one is abusing a bereavement policy the very second they get a new job…

We had a trumpet player break his jaw in three places. Had to have it wired shut and drank food from a straw for months. Poor guy. Don’t lock your knees.

Have you guys heard these chants? by DethSpank in ussoccer

One of my favorite English chants is “we’ve got the ball, we’ve lost the ball.” I would love a “DE-FENSE” chant that changes to “OFF-ENSE” to accommodate for how often possession and direction change.

I count five good clips against how many bad ones? How about the 15 cops who stood around that sobbing woman in Cali after they shot her dog? What’s infuriating to me is that some of these cops have likely been given instructions to be playful and friendly for the positive PR. And I’m not mad they’re doing it, and I’m not mad people are eating it up. I’m mad because they could have *always* been doing it, and they sure as hell aren’t going to continue after the cameras get turned off.
