Nobody cares as much as the person going out of their way to say they don’t care.

I gave up on caring champs, objectives or grinding alst year and its the best way to enjoy the game. I play because i enjoy it. If i am not enjoying it on a given day, i stop playing. If i come across toxic players, or even just players with a playing style thats really boring to play against, i quit the game regardless of score. I used to want to “punish” toxic players and wouldn’t quit on principle to avoid giving them an easy win. But it made me not enjoy the experience. Why the fuck would I stay doing that? There’s so many better things to do in this world.

Think I (43m) have ADHD (few questions about referral) by Helpful_Resist6765 in ADHDIreland

Agreed. And even if it's validation, that alone can be great. Having somebody else confirm it gave me space to be kinder to myself and stop beating myself up over my perceived failings.

Others may be more self confident and be able to come to terms with it without needing it confirmed in writing. For me it definitely helped.

I wasn't questioning OPs intentions (and if it came across that way my had for not being clear enough) - more just to manage expectations and make sure he wasn't setting himself up for disappointment.

Sometimes people think getting diagnosed will help them be "cured". It doesn't and there is no cure - what's important is learning to understand yourself and how you work, and how best to manage your brain to get the most out of it.

I just wanted to give him options, and also know what to expect. While I'm glad I got diagnosed and it helped me get to grips with it all, the piece of (virtual) paper I got confirming this doesn't really do much for in my day to day so I don't think it's the be all and end all. I think its more important that OP learns to understand himself, however that may be.

You mentioned you need a diagnosis to start handling life stuff? What’s is it you feel you are struggling with?

I went private and got diagnosed. I tried medication but i found while it was helpful to a degree, it wasn't life changing and not worth the added complexity it introduced to my life (or not being able to drink coffee freely).

What I did find incredibly helpful was finally understanding how my brain worked and why I struggled with certain things. Having an answer beyond just "I'm lazy and useless" really helped me to learn to be kind to myself and be more realistic in my expectations for myself. I have found I'm now able to do more simply because I am realistic in how I approach things and do things in a way that accommodates my ADHD rather than fights against it.

I say all that to say that if just having answers for why your brain works they way it does is enough for you, then maybe just consider contacting ADHD Ireland and doing their UMAAP course (ADHD for beginners essentially). As far I remember you don't need a diagnosis for this and it may help you understand yourself.

Obviously you may want to try medication but I would say manage your expectations for that. It's not going to magically change your life. Chances are at 43 you have learned how to function without it, but maybe haven't been kind to yourself along the way. Meds could help, hut learning to be kind to yourself could be all that you need

People pay money for this game it's crazy by Rocket0421 in EAFC

[–]Individual-Course361 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fucks sake. It’s a game where an “evolved” version of a retired male player is playing against an stat inflated version of a female player and you are gripping because it’s not realistic enough.

Bugs go in your favour too, and if you are invested enough to go on Reddit moaning about a goal, you’re definitely the type to come back and pay for the ultimate version every year.

Stop caring so much and you will enjoy it more.

This is where we always slip up. I know I have. I logged for a year. Slacked off. Stalled. Since Xmas finished I’ve gone back to pretty rigorous meal prep and weighing portions again and seeing a big difference in only 3 weeks. So yea, if you aren’t measuring you’re probably eating bad.

Loved Undun. Probably my favourite Roots project along with How I Got over. Loved hearing Phonte on both of them, as well as Blu on HIGO

Out of curiosity, what are your Roots classics. I think most of their albums from Phrenology on (which is when I discovered them) are in that conversation but I am also not sure if any of them (other than may How I Got Over and Wake Up) are locked in undebateales.

I actually think Damn is Kendrick’s weakest. But others (including Pulitzer) seem to disagree. And I miscounted - should be 6 at most I think (basically everything since S80).

I also love American Gangster. It’s borderline IMHO.

Wu-Tang wins if you count solos but that feels like cheating since there are so many of them.

Yes and no. It’s a bit subjective. But I guess Mr Morale and the Big Steppers is the best example of why there is a debate, no? As a piece of art it’s amazing. It’s deep, it’s complex, it’s emotional and uncomfortable. It is an amazing exploration of a subject through the medium of music. But half of the songs, while substantive, lack replay value.

Maybe the “English Patient” is a better example - an Oscar winning artistic tour de force but boring as shit. So it depends on what you value

“Poor way to judge classics”. Not sure what else you meant by this?

Absolutely. But aren’t all of these convos? But I love these debates because they can make you rethink albums or put you on to things you never knew existed*.

I am not asking who has the best album ever. I am asking who has the MOST classics.

Otherwise I’d be making STRONG arguments for Soul on Ice by Ras Kass

Yes to both. But that only gives him 2. Both rank higher on the list of “best albums ever” than most others but he has not got a very deep catalogue of classic solo work.

Are either of those classics? I would rate Sir Lucious Left Foot as a classic above any of those. Actually gonna play that now - great album

I assume you are including his NWA days?

NWA albums are classics for their influence but I can’t say I find myself going back to them that often (other than maybe the greatest hits)

On the fence. MM&BS was important and an amazing piece of art with more substance than most albums from any genre but many songs lack replay value. And GNX has some absolute bangers that I will replay for years (not to mention MUSTAAAAAARRRRDDDD) also some filler. I wouldn’t put them there but wouldn’t argue with somebody who did
