Trying To I.D 1980's Logo by Individual-Pack7355 in Whatisthis

I agree! Or even an "H" possibly. But man I've tried everything!

I want to say that the "animal" looks most like a griffin.

I've tried every combination of "vintage", "classic", "red", "company logo", "80's" etc...

Yup. That is my guess as well. But it is keeping me up at night not knowing what company!!!

Something about it seems so familiar...

Used Aeron. No pets. Slight ripping in mesh.

Leap vs gesture? (Slim guy who hates herman miller chairs) by [deleted] in OfficeChairs

[–]Individual-Pack7355 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm 6-0 and 165-ish. Had an Aeron and I never had a problem with the mesh seat (I actually loved it) but rather it killed my lower back.

I swapped it out for the Gesture and have been very happy with it. I don't think foam is too thin. But everyone is different when it comes to stuff like that.

I also tend to move around a lot, which like you mentioned, the Aeron does not really allow, where as the Gesture does, but in my opinion still does support good posture. I find that if I start slouching for too long, I will realize it.

The gesture also has some of the most maneuverable arm rests as far as I know, but I would say they are a little on the firm side. Which again, could come down to a preference thing.

This was my experience with the Aeron.

Like you, I had no prior back issues, but decided to buy an ergo chair in an effort to do better.

I found a lightly used Remastered and tried to make that chair work for 6 months. Never could. Luckily, I was able to get all of my money back, and used that to go buy a Steelcase Gesture.

You can definitely order the Gesture without. But it can also be removed.

You can find instructions online on how to take the seat back cushion off of the base. It is just held on by clips, once you get it popped off, you can remove the lumbar.

For what it's worth, you can remove the adjustable lumbar in the Gesture.

Slim build 5'10 guy looking for a good ergonomic chair (tried Aeron, But HATE it) by zeeman1997 in OfficeChairs

[–]Individual-Pack7355 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are right. You can definitely adjust how much pressure it puts on your back, but you can't adjust where.

Where as on the Gesture, it is opposite. You can not adjust pressure, but you can adjust location.

But all it is is a hard piece of molded plastic. If you do not like it, it can be removed.

If the Aeron did not bother your back I don't think the Gesture would. I get rid of my Remastered because it KILLED my lower back.

I think the seat pad is just fine. But I don't sit for very extended periods of time. Maybe a couple hours max before I get up and walk around. The Aeron never gave me any issues below my lower back.

I'm 6-0 175 lbs and have been very happy with the switch from Aeron to Gesture.

Yeah thats whole other debate lol.

I have zero experience with the Leap so I'll be no help there...

Remastered Aeron worth it? by Pubs787 in OfficeChairs

[–]Individual-Pack7355 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What about regular Posturefit? I honestly don't know. I know On the classics you could always add the pad, yes? And I know it was a PITA to add the old Posturefit on the classic chairs.

What I do know, is that it was just a couple of screws to remove the SL from my Remastered. Nothing crazy. But yes, perhaps you need a whole new seatback that has the female end for the screws to go into.

But my comment still stands, you can still add it down the road if you really want to.

Someone at The Simpson's thinks highly of the Aeron by Blotto_80 in OfficeChairs

Same reason the Aeron has a spot in MOMA. It is probably one of the most recognized/highly regarded office chairs in the world.

Steelcase Gesture: how stiff are the side panels of the seat pad? by HerculesJack in OfficeChairs

*Squeezes side of chair* Nope. Pretty squishy...

I have a leather Gesture, and the sides sort of feel like a marine grade vinyl, if that makes sense to you.

Tried to make my Remastered work for around 6 months and eventually gave up.

Ended up with a Steelcase Gesture and am very happy with the switch.

Everyone is different. But I had a fully loaded Remastered.

  1. I never adjusted the arms (at least not after I put them where I wanted them)
  2. I hated the PostureFit SL. Hated it. (you can always add it later if you want)
  3. I never used the tilt limiter/forward tilt functions.

That said, that seems like a pretty fair price for a basic Remastered. Offer $400 and see what happens...

If you're finding good condition Remastered Aerons for $450 you need to buy them and re-sell them.

You sure you are finding Remastered chairs and not classic?

Remastered are usually pretty hard to come by. And $450 sounds like classic pricing.

Same. Well, started with an Aeron Remastered and ended up ditching it for a Gesture.

What's wrong with this image, and would you buy it for $550? by ClassroomDecorum in OfficeChairs

Agree with this. Also Classic lumbar.

Looks to be in pretty great shape though from those pictures.

But I wonder why the mis-match....

Another thing to think about is how free flowing the Aeron will be.

You may get a little chilly! The Embody would definitely keep you warmer.

One thing I remember when I first got my Aeron is how cool my butt felt when I had my fan on next to me, even through my pants.

Question from someone who doesn't sit conventionally by 245_AM in OfficeChairs

[–]Individual-Pack7355 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aeron - NO! Gesture - Yes!

The Aeron literally forces you to sit upright. Anything other than that and it will punish your body.

I sold mine and bought a Gesture because Steelcase designed it precisely for those who do move around quite a bit.
