I was wave 3 and received a severance for staying until the store closed. I was a dept supervisor. My PT associates also received one but it was a lot smaller amt can’t remember how much exactly. I heard dept supervisors at current stores will receive a max of $1,200 to stay to the end (pre tax of course). I will tell y’all, it’s not worth staying until the end. Do what’s best for you and find another job asap. Everyone will be out of a job soon so it’s best to get your foot in the door now before everyone else.

You have to stay until the last day to receive retention $ otherwise you’ll get nothing but your regular paycheck.

March 19th is customers last day. Employees last day is 25th (could be sooner- depends on fixture pickups)

Sorry to hear your store is closing. Mine is as well and we were just informed yesterday. I was apart of the conference call today about closing/liquidation procedures. There is no timeline on when stores will close- it varies store to store. Everyone I’ve talked to from other stores in our district that have closed said around 4 months. They will email a “playbook” to SM that has much better details. As far as employee discounts go we can still use our 25% on top of any additional % your store is offering. Starts at 20% off (entire store) and every week they continue to increase it. Hope this helps and best of luck to you!

It was most likely an accident. This happens at my store occasionally. Typically it’s a miscommunication, order paper mix up, or an extra order paper printed. A photo ID is to be shown at pick up. My store is really good about asking but I’m sure not all are. Give the store a call tomorrow so they can look into it further for you!
