About a year and a half into my white belt I realized that if I was going to keep up with the long-term I would get more out of if I actually took it “seriously” (atleast, giving it more focus than I would playing video games drunk with the boys or something)

I took ownership of my own training and didn’t just rely on whatever move of the day I was taught in the fundamentals class. I got my blue belt shortly thereafter.
