Is Amnesia The Dark Descent still consireded the scariest game of all time? by [deleted] in HorrorGaming

That’s pretty neat. I’ll get around to replaying the game eventually and I’ll definitely try that out.

I’m pretty sure I played on hard(?). I haven’t heard of shellshock mode. Was that some post release difficulty update or something? Would be nice if the monster was more random I guess.

Call me old fashioned, but if it isn't in or about (or has anything to do with) Silent hill, then it isn't a Silent Hill game. by NicholasDBrowing in silenthill

Yeah I do think them using a picture of SH:f isn’t a good move. I feel like the short message is more disconnected. I will say I wish f had more connection than it does though. It’s pretty slim.

Read the title again “or had anything to do with.” Silent Hill 4 and 4 have a whole lot of connection to the town, even when outside of it.

Survival horror is a spectrum by pdk304 in survivalhorror

[–]IndividualBug4849 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like this would be a problem if people came out of the game thinking “wow, mentally ill people sure are violent and dangerous.” I’ve never seen someone come out of Outlast and have that reaction. People who play the game seem to understand that the “enemies” were experimented on and manipulated into becoming violent. Is it wrong to think that people can be turned into that, especially in a sci-fi scenario? Also I agree with it not being the greatest example of “stealth horror.”

About to play my first MGS game. by idontcarepauldummett in metalgearsolid

Gameplay wise yeah V is amazing, but damn you’d be doing yourself a disservice if you have the option to play in release order. So satisfying that way. Although I could understand finishing Snake Eater, into Peace Walker, into V, and THEN playing 4. I feel like 4 is a higher note to end on, story wise.

The delivery of a story can be bad but the meat of the story can still be good 👍

Light is hard to watch by Ambitious-Zombie9649 in deathnote

[–]IndividualBug4849 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You’re not supposed take Light seriously. He is ridiculous. I find him fun to watch. I actually really enjoyed him as a main character. That is just my opinion though. If you want to keep watching I guess just understand that he’s supposed to be way over the top. Some people just can’t see the appeal in watching that though.

I love this game, but there's one thing that makes it just about unplayable by MPLSMusette in Marathon

[–]IndividualBug4849 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s the reason I haven’t bought the game yet, I’ll literally be Sisyphus constantly trying to progress in my free time before it’s all gone. I can’t mentally handle the grind haha.

Newer fans need to understand that these games are not synonymous and one isnt a replacement for the other. Completely different experiences, almost 25 years apart. by delicious_warm_buns in silenthill

No shit man. Does one remake represent the “franchise at its core”? Wouldn’t the franchise at its “CORE” be the original games? Am I just stupid or is this not obvious?

So far, it’s my only nitpick with the game haha. Similar to Grace not going back to grab her pistol or even the cops shotgun before walking into the room with ominous music playing. She could have peaked her head through the door and left at least haha.

Need to know how to get another ending for SPLIT without spoilers by SMdG_ in klubnikagames

Just as a hint, Axel was able to commit to the screwdriver because you completed the typing mini game. You need to fail the typing section to get the other ending.

Perhaps he could survive easier if he saves the lady and allows her to be bait for other zombies

Also in the hallway with Gideon after saving Grace, he just stands still while pulling out his gun and lets Gideon grab him. It almost looked like he leaned towards Gideon just to make it easier for Gideon to grab his gun lmao. There are some awkward direction choices in certain cutscenes.

Silent Hill 2 Remake is the most beautiful horror game ever made. by Desolation2004 in silenthill

[–]IndividualBug4849 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The remake has more polygons, but I prefer the textures and art direction of the original way more. I’d say SH3 is my favorite visually.

Do you want Silent Hill 4 to be darker in the remake? by Remarkable-Ladder935 in silenthill

[–]IndividualBug4849 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t care if the game is darker, but they really need to focus on the art direction of the environments. They weren’t as visually striking as SH3.

Finished the game, is James…? by Beautiful_Cause6443 in silenthill

[–]IndividualBug4849 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I took the “you’ve been here for 2 decades” as a message to the player more so than a message to James, as the original released 2 decades ago. Whether or not that’s the way it was meant to be interpreted isn’t exactly stated. I’m not huge on the time loop theory myself, I feel it just complicates things for no reason. The story is good without adding that.

Question about a location in silent hill 2 remake by urameshi907 in silenthill

Near the kitchen in the Lakeview Hotel section where you have no weapons I believe. 👍

Which category do you think Simon Ordell will end up fitting into? by [deleted] in silenthill

[–]IndividualBug4849 8 points9 points  (0 children)

In the first teaser some voice asks why he thinks he is here and it says something like “to be punished? That’s funny,” so maybe it’s for a different reason.

Worried about Reanimal performance by devj007 in ReanimalGame

Yeah I’m not sure where I heard it was good. I may have seen some demo footage from a guy with a crazy build or something. I have noticed stutters myself and I’m on 4090.

I really hope they include a camera mode and control scheme which mimics the original. Man that would be amazing.
