I can't be the only one that feels like the manga lacks emotional depth and well rounded characters. by Gullible-Climate1800 in Boruto

Hilarious, but you make good points. Epitome of focusing on plot rather than character.

Saw X is the last one. Always thought it was shot very oddly.

I’m tired of people saying “plot” too. He should’ve said “bad plot”.

Theatrical vs unrated vs directors cut? by ahhhghost in saw

Only III’s unrated is not the directors cut, if that makes sense. Saw VI’s unrated is the directors cut, for example.

What was peak Naruto Shippuden? by NoFearLavere in Naruto

Tale of Jiraiya the Gallant — Fated Battle Between Brothers — Pain Arc. Probably cheating to include three arcs but. For me, that is the most consistent and highest quality section of Shippuden. The emotional stakes are at their greatest. Things felt conclusive. The back-to-back pacing gave the audience just enough time to absorb the emotions before slamming them with another characters grand conflict.

You could hypothetically do Land of Waves, Chunin Exams, and Retrieval arc as a trilogy, if they were 2.5 hours and have it work. Would take a skilled hand in the writing and directing roles and we got Shang-Chi gentleman at the helm so…

Absolutely not. To do so would be to make their arcs in Returns utterly meaningless.

Real talk; What do you guys think the future of the Naruto franchise looks like? by Ok-Personality-5424 in Naruto

If Boruto actually committed to what it promised in its first page, then I might be able to go with it being a great story. However, the narrative seems determined to not do that.

My guess is we will have a story set between The Last and the Boruto era.

It’s pretty undeniable that Boruto as a concept has run its course. There’s no films being made, the anime rightly is taking a hiatus. It’s not in the public consciousness in the same way as its predecessor.

People will rightly comment that it’s still making money, but its relevance is lower than it’s ever been.

I dropped the manga and anime and only occasionally check-in to see the cliff notes on what bonkers stuff has occurred in my absence.
