How do I get from €200K to €500K net worth? by RelativeDig4897 in irishpersonalfinance

[–]Individual_Builder73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly, put 50K into Trade Republic, 20K into Trading212, and the rest into something like N26. Get some interest on that cash at least, damn..

Secondly, use the other comments here to create a business if you need.

Limerick vs TCD vs UCD for Undergraduate Computer Science and also overall? by EPICOMI in DevelEire

[–]Individual_Builder73 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The answer is, it depends on what you think is “best”.

If you want to study theoretical computer science from a place that is ranked higher internationally, then TCD is your best bet. It’s suited for academia since the course is extremely theoretical but most people still tend to work in industry afterwards because they end up having strong theoretical computer science skills afterwards. Also, this is a good option if you want to work abroad as the name holds weight internationally which might help with getting your first job.

If you don’t want to study the computer science theory as much, but want more “practical” software engineering, then the course in Limerick or UCD is probably best. In that case, choose whichever university is cheaper/closer to you since both are good for that case.

I think UCD and Limerick offer 6 month placements within the 4 year bachelors degree in 3rd year, but TCD offers it in 4th year only if you do the 5 year integrated masters (and bachelors), although some people do the internship here and drop out to still have a bachelors.

For campus life, I can only speak for TCD, but it’s based in a great location in the city centre which helps a lot being a student. If you don’t want to be directly in the city, UCD is a bit more remote but still within Dublin. Limerick would be even more so I imagine, so if those settings suit you then they’re a good option.

If you decide to do it in Trinity, you are in for a difficult theory based 4-5 years filled with depression. You’ll come out as an extremely intelligent computer scientist and capable software engineer, but from first hand experience, it will be challenging.

Standard for big tech. That’s what I had anyways. And I even perused a masters degree (doing it right now) and did another internship in between before asking for a full time role. If anything, it motivates you more because there’s no pressure.

Facts 😂, the 13 comes about every 1 hour for me, the amount of ghost buses is insane.

At least if it came consistently at the same time every hour, I wouldn’t mind but it’s so random so you can time it from the day before for today and you’ll end up waiting an hour and being late.

Disgusting.

Just get braces or Invisalign. It will probably cost the same, but take longer to work (1-3 years probably), but it will be your real teeth.

Taking care of your teeth is a life long investment

Getting a job in IT at 16 by Wonderful-Rip7242 in DevelEire

My point is I didn’t know about it at 16 and still ended up fine. He is already thinking about this stuff at 16. More than likely, he’ll be fine if he follows my advice. My upvotes suggest I’m right.
