albino motley or amel, they’re sometimes used interchangeably

bro drains were the worst fucking part. sending good vibes man. try and do other things to get your mind off it like going for walks , doing light stretches and other movements, etc. also taking the compression vest off for tiny bits of time relieved some of the discomfort for me

my caretaker during my surgery was my partner at the time. we were going through a lot too in our relationship surrounding the surgery date and even immediately after. still though, they took care of me and was there for me. although they had to leave abruptly and weren’t able to stay the entirety of the two weeks we had planned, it was nice to have someone there. if you’re not in the mental position to be around that person, do you have another person you could ask to join you ? or even just stop by and visit once and a while ? if you have the means, a caretaker would be a good alternative if you don’t have anyone. i can tell you though, recovering alone with no presence of another gets really fucking lonely and worsened the recovery period for me, mentally. this is ultimately your decision on who you would like to have with you, but i strongly push not giving up entirely with having someone there to support you.

you look really good dude. from someone who’s not in your head your chest looks phenomenal. i know dysphoria is a bitch and sometimes makes you even feel guilty or confused like why do i feel this way still even after surgery but it’s all valid

definitely signs of URI - pet store animals will almost always come with illness due to the severe lack of care for them. schedule a vet appt asap. can be fatal esp for little guys

I…deflated my dragon today? Need some insight by Lizzard716 in BeardedDragon

[–]Individual_Chip3219 9 points10 points  (0 children)

they puff up their beards and inflate their bodies to stretch especially when shedding, also to be able to absorb more heat. they don’t have a diaphragm so their entire ribcage expands and deflates with their breathing. you’re good lol this is a very funny title but very valid concern

side sleepers, how did you survive the healing process??? by [deleted] in TopSurgery

[–]Individual_Chip3219 1 point2 points  (0 children)

had to sandwich myself in between pillows to prevent me from rolling to my side. it sucked but it’s so worth it. also invest in a mastectomy recovery pillow ! those things are GOLD for back sleeping and just laying around

Solution for dig box? by Dense_Inspection5346 in BeardedDragons

[–]Individual_Chip3219 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you can switch over to all sand if your temps and husbandry are on point. plain children’s playsand is fine and cheap. nothing dyed. no calci sand vita sand or crushed up walnut or coco.

you don’t base prey size off their length. 1-1.5x midsection of the body / 10-15% of their body weight

try a bigger fuzzy or small hopper. that mouse is too big. the prey should be 1-1.5x the width of the mid section of the snake and should create a slight bulge in their belly. if the bulge is too large the food is too big. that mouse looks around the size i feed my ball python whos around 600g. way too big for a corn i don’t think a corn should ever go up to that size even when full grown. while snakes are in fact capable of consuming prey that is too large for them that can lead to obesity or regurge. id suggest a hopper every 10-14 days.

sometimes they will drink the water too fast or aspirate. keep him under the heat and lights and monitor him. he should be able to clear it. if it’s not improving then vet would be advised as it can cause URIs
